betrayals for powerweapons

hello fellow halo fans i have noticed in recent weeks that more and more people are killing their own team mates for powerweapons and vehicles (i.e. mantis’s, fuel rod cannons, sniper rifles etc) which is totally gay and this sort of -Yoink- gaming ought to be outlawed. which is why i recommend that 343 change the betrayal penalty time to say 30 secs to a minute. has this been happening to anyone else who play CTF in particular?? or people must not like me :frowning: lol!!

I liked that IS didnt have betrayals “Except for vehicle splatters” friendly fire is something I have always despised about Halo, people think they should have the PW or vehicle and betray their teammates for it.

what i always do is waste all the ammo or jump off the map and some occasions get betrayal booted for repeated killings of him but i disagree with you betrayals are a huge part of halos strategy. being in a hallway with mates you have to becareful to not shoot them while in a firefight. good players dont hit you instead of the opposition.

i feel you and your team should get punished for bad aim, still people want halo more user friendly

yea i totally agree good players dont betray but today ive had a couple of games and i have been raising my csr on a few game modes. was playing CTF on ragnarok and out of 6 games in 5 i was betrayed either for the mantis, sniper rifle and even the saw which respawns every 90 seconds. i know sometimes you do betray when the fighting gets close and someone throws in a cheeky grenade but i just think 343 should have a look at punishing people who constantly do it because it does spoil the game a bit

Part of me says that there ought to be a boot option for EVERY betrayal. Another part of me acknowledges that sometimes you’ll get betrayed completely by accident.

Last week I was playing Big Skirmish and this guy in a Warthog Turret betrays me so he can take the Rockethog Rockets. I didn’t get the option to boot him and I was very pissed off.

I agree that this is annoying. I actually had 4 people that were friends, playing on my team once 4x tag team trying to kill me. Why? I got the gauss turret on the warthog in BT Slayer and one of them was angry he didn’t get it. So their solution was gunning for me in the entire game. It is annoying getting shot from the front, opposition team, and the back, 4 players on your own team, intentionally. I mean they were not even hiding it. At one point I just stopped playing and they would walk up and melee me in group, not even playing in the game. I would actually support a week, or month, ban for that behavior, and not a simple comment, unsportsmanlike behavior, in their gamer profile that really is useless.

I have as well had friends that play have your same situation. They get a power weapon only to get betrayed by some freeloader that thought they should have it, or waited to betray and get it…

That said though I don’t think there should be an immediate ban. I have had my head up my rear at times and accidentally shot my own teammate, or trying to speed around in a warthog, since I am like a shark in water and try to always keep moving, and suddenly a teammate runs out in my path…normally I apologize and try to not do it again, but accidents do happen. Especially in an intense CQC situation.
