More than once, I was unable to use a vehicle that I took because of one of the following things:
-
EMPed by a teammate multiple times until his plasma pistol is empty.
-
Teammates shooting at my vehicle until it explodes without doing betrayals. There is no way to protect ourselves from this behavior (since you can’t betray…)
-> Players doing this are just some poor kid claiming publicly : " I’m a selfish bast*rd and if I can’t have my precious vehicle (without which I can’t make a single kill), then no one will".
I’m pretty sure every decent player gets mad when being screwed by those abuses. So I propose some easy fixes:
-
Remove friendly fire for the EMP blasts. I don’t see how it can be exploited and I guess most of the players will thank you for it.
-
Reintroduce betrayals. I know there are some downsides to it (like stealing the power-weapons, strangely done by the same kind of bad kid), so maybe make the booting system more strict. Anyway, no one should be able to destroy some teammate’s vehicle without being blamed at all. It would be really nice to introduce a “self-defense” system, which allows you to kill a teammate without any risk to be booted if he gave you a large amount of damage (like 80% or more of your shield) and if you do it in a short period of time after it.
So that’s what I wanted to say. Show some support if you agree with this. If you have better ideas about it, just let us know.

Okay…
Sorry for the useless topic. I kind of thought more players would be concerned.
I agree with you im just tired of complaining about it, besides it seems a little less common now, I started avoiding/submitting unsportsmanlike reviews to players who did it, it gave me piece of mind if nothing else and I think xboxlive does what it can to avoid people with similar reviews,
how about no
if i think you dont deserve a vehicle, as a good player, i will do everything to help my team
bang goes your vehicle, noob teammate. you are our decoy; you are our enemy-magnet.

You sir, are a waste of a teammate. Regardless of how skilled you think you are
There’s nothing worse than selfish players killing you for a power weapon or vehicle that they want. I would strongly like to see the reintroduction of the betrayal system for all game types. On the flip side there is nothing more annoying than getting booted by a player who ran in for the melee kill after you’ve already thrown a nade into the room which has happened to my friends and I in previous halo games.
My proposal is an In-game death review system just like the kill cam in some of the playlists which activates EVERY single time you are betrayed. This way you can see from the perspective of the betrayer wether or not it was deliberate or just some accidental grenade or cross fire. Then once the cam has played out it gives the option to boot or forgive. I understand there are some bugs with the current kill cams in game which would need to be ironed out for this to work to its full potential.
That’s just my thoughts on the issue.
BTB is only Slayer, which sucks, but back on topic, you are right. Teamates shooting your own vehicles should not be allowed to happen unless it is Hardcore. I have left many games due to this type of behavior which will only get worse once they add objective to BTB.
After over a decade of Halo games, it is amazing to me that this is still allowed to be a problem.

Good players don’t destroy vehicles when they are used by ‘‘unwhorty’’ teamates; good players try to adapt to the situation, no matter how bad things are.
I sincerely hope that next time you get in a Scorpion or a Wraith, an other player like you decide that you are unwhorty of using those vehicles. Then you’ll know the taste of your medicine.

Oh, you mean the noobs?
They don’t.
Maybe if they put some better players on my team, I wouldn’t be so condescending. But until then, I think I also deserve some fun, as the best player on my team.

As the ‘‘best’’ player of your team, you don’t deserve anything. You don’t deserve to choose wheter or not a player is allowed to use a vehicle or a certain power weapon. As a matter of fact, condescending players like you deserve to be betrayed than be teabagged by a whole team of ‘‘weaker’’ players.
Also, being the best is it’s own reward.
Jl1223 X is probably the kind of person who makes Halo a non-perfect experience. If he took just one second to read his own message, he would have realized how stupid and selfish he sounds. I would be really happy to teach him what being skilled mean by t-bagging him.
Even when you remove all friendly fire you have people blowing up the unoccupied vehicles on spawn.
Even when you make it so they can’t splatter you, they’ll push you out into the enemy’s line of fire.
The point is there is no stopping players from being ****s. I think the boot option when someone betrays you is about as good as it gets.
I’m not disagreeing that it’s frustrating or really disagreeing with the sentiment at all, but it’s important to understand that 343 can only do so much before it becomes the players’ decision, and some players will never stop being ****s.
Regulating player behavior is impossible, and a lot of the measures that prevent betraying come with downsides, as do a lot of the punishments for it.
I have a lot of complaint about Halo 4, but some stuff is just extremely difficult to tackle for the developer, and keeping players from being ****s is one of those things.
Im sick and tired of noobs shooting and emp’ing my vehicle. Had 3 players from my own team kill my Mantis last night and im pretty good in it (have 2 unfrigs) and use wheelman.
