Betrayals affecting match stats.

Let’s get straight to the point. Ever been going on a real nice killing spree, up to Running Riots and beyond, perhaps even shooting for a Perfection and a team mate betrays you? You get mad, you may get even madder when you aren’t anywhere near the action and someone does it on purpose.

In fact, just a bit ago I was in BTB on HemoRage. I was doing great! I was doing the best I had done with the sniper in a long time. I even got a ‘Be the Bullet’. I was being a team player, making call outs, killing vehicles. I was about to get a Perfection. However, I needed to make a quick break to the bathroom. When I came back, I had the option to boot a team mate. I KNOW I wasn’t killed by an enemy prior, trust me…I know hiding spots. Gooood hiding spots. He couldn’t even think I was AFKing the match, I was leading the team.

So I got cheated out of a flawless game all to no fault of my own.

This is why I believe betrayals performed against someone should not affect the victim’s stats.

Yeah, I don’t think betrayals should count towards stats.

I hate people who camp out kills and hide to try and get a perfection. I kill these players because they are not helping the team in a team game and trying to get a medal they don’t deserve.

And besides, all that will lead to is team mates asking to get killed to get out of unsurvivable situations.

That’s true. People might abuse the system.

Betrayals should NOT count towards your deaths in-game or on your service record.

A simple boot DOES NOT justify a perfection.

Better yet. Turn off friendly fire for Halo 4.

Yay, now we can spam grenades and rockets without a care in the world!

This ^ by a lot.

I believe betrayals should lower your XP count at the end of the game.
Example:
Game Completion = 1000
Performance = 1000
Victory = 5000
Objectives = 2500
Betrayals = -500
Overall XP = 8000

1 betrayal equals -500 XP. ppl that betray a lot (HemoRAGE for example) will not be getting much, no matter how good they do with the Sniper.

this can/should be excluded for Grifball.

Also, getting booted causes the first total 5000 XP you get to not count.

No, that won’t work at all.

Implying I was camping and trying to hide to get a Perfection? I wasn’t. I had 17 kills when I had to go take a leak. I was going to pick back up where I left off. Sure, being a bad sniper doesn’t help the team but I didn’t betray anyone for the sniper nor did I do bad with it.

I do agree with your second point though.

> Yeah, I don’t think betrayals should count towards stats.

On top of this, medals shouldn’t be reset because of blacksreen.

I feel your pain, OP. Something very similar to this happened to me on a Team Snipers match on Powerhouse. I was pushing damn near close to 20 kills without a single death when my teammate decided to get cute and snipe me close to match’s end while I was scoping for targets. I’ve never been so infuriated. I really hope 343 can make this change. It would be one of the best things they could do.

On a side note, they should make a similar change for blackscreen resets as well. I was working on a Perfection on Rumble Pit in Sword Base and a guy quit, casuing a blackscreen. I still got the Perfection, but no Rampage as the spree count was reset -_- …extremely annoying.

it’s so complicated to balance competitive gameplay when you are competing with both players on and off the team. I completely agree on nullifying betrayals on personal stats, but the game changes when you lose that power weapon, when that poor player joins the game. What’s more… join in session will probably decrease the bond between player and lobby. Alternatively, I’d assume the consequences for quitting and being booted will be increased.

It’s the most annoying thing that can happen

No.
