Betrayal

This isn’t a rage thread or nothing I was just wandering if you guys think betrayal should be taken out of reach.

Just say YES or NO and your reasons

At the very least, friendly fire should be controled a little better.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It encourages players to THINK! It means that you can’t rocket spam or just throw a grenade at your teamate to damage enemies around him, it means you can’t just mindlessly spam the wraith cannon, it stops players pulling crap like hammering teamates across the map. It means you have to look where you’re driving.

That better? lol

Brainstorm. How would players feel about friendly fire if it could not completely kill you? Leave you with red health. That way people don’t kill you for your weapon. Also, if a player does enough damage/assists in providing enough damage to a teammate to kill him three times over, that teammate gets the option to boot the player. Would this work?

This could work but it should be 5 times before the boot because if someone accidentally spams a frag/plasma it wouldn’t be fair if he’d booted instantly.

The only downside would be griefers.

Take your idea and make it so that after the total damage done to you exceeds twice your total shields and health you get the boot option on your next death OR on the Start Menu, and I agree entirely.

I proposed something similar once, and I definitely do think it’s the way to go. Perhaps make it so that it ALSO reflects damage upon the traitorous teammate at a ratio of 1.5x, so that it kills them at the same time it deshields you, meaning they are FORCED off your case by the game.

If the second idea was implemented perhaps total damage done would have to be twice just your shields, but harsher is better: Traitors only have their fun in Halo, so I think it’s time to stop it.

Played a game of Multiflag CTF on BTB the other day. In eight and a half minutes there were a total of 21 betrayals on my team. One person did it twice and was booted. Two people did it three times each and were booted. Then some jurkstore managed to betray 13 flipping times before he was able to be booted.

The match is in my fileshare and rendered on bnet.
