I’ve noticed something different on how betrayals work. If an enemy is shooting at me and I escape, then a friendly throws a grenade at me by accident, it counts as a kill toward the enemy and not a betrayal. Is there a link or something that explains on how betrayal works in H5? In previous Halo games, I’ve never seen this happen before.
I’ve noticed that too
Also if say a enemy ghost is about to splatter a team mate and you shoot them out of it and the ghost splatters them you get a betrayal
Im pretty sure it’s been that way for multiple games now.

I’ve never noticed it in any other halo
Yeah, this is definitely something I’ve only seen in Halo 5 (and I don’t even have the game lol). But maybe it has to do with the coding that gives players a kill if the person they injured commits suicide? Maybe the game equivocates betrayals as suicides now, at least in this scenario?

Really?
Been playing Halo since CE; it’s always been this way.
That’s very strange. Guess I forgot how betrayals work in other previous games since I don’t betray a lot.
So essentially as long as I see a team mate get shot theyre free to be betrayed for those who like to betray
Its annoying in griffbal

oh It’s always been this way. In halo 3 i stopped someone from getting a perfection after running them over right after taking enemy fire

Yeah, I’ve lost count of how many time that this has happened, be it accidental or purposefully.
Most of the time, it’s just hard for those being betrayed to see it, because it’s counted as a kill.
Yea, this is a pretty normal thing I thought. Its pretty smart, in my opinion. Most betrayals that happen like that are 100% accidental, so doing it this way cuts down on people getting booted for honest mistakes. If a player is blatantly betraying a teammate, that normally happens away from enemies so the enemy won’t get credit for that kill. I don’t know if that makes sense, I turn into an idiot when I try to explain things.
Commonknown knowledge. That is why if a team mate dislikes you, they will keep hitting you until your shields are down, but never finish so you can easily be killed.
or like you said, if you were just under fire and escape you can be killed by a team mate (accident or not) with no problem.
