Someone explain it to me. In invasion, I just got betrayed about 10 times straight by the same person. I spawned, he just shot and beat me down. But not once did I get the option to boot him? Why not?

Could you please tell me which match is that you are talking about? A bungie.net link?
because bungie tried telling a machine to think which makes no sense.
They should remove friendly fire so this doesn’t happen.
Yep, it doesn’t work. You can do the most blatent betrayals and get away with it, and other times you’ll be booted for obvious accidents. Who here has been booted for sticking an enemy who then gets assasinated by a teammate?
It can do some crazy stuff. The other day, a friend and I discovered an unexploded sticky grenade lingering on the floor. Some guy had thrown it just before host migration, and when the game came back, it had an infinite fuse. My friend stood on the grenade, and I shot it with a needle rifle. He exploded, and it gave him the option to boot the person who threw it, like, 3 minutes after it was first thrown. We booted him, for the lulz. Poor guy.
In another game, I (out of boredom) shot down our own team’s Falcon with a spartan lazer, and it counted as a double betrayal and a suicide for the person flying, as if I had nothing to do with it. Madness.
They should just take out friendly fire. Other games that are more realistic (like CoD) dont have it, so a game like Halo which isnt very realistic doesnt really need it either.
I completely agree with the option to turn off friendly fire. I was in a BTB game, and it was Snipers. There was a guy on our team who would run around and pop a few shots with his pistol off at my teammates and I. It was aggravating whenever you were scoped in and he would shoot at you, thus descoping you. We hoped he would actually betray one of us so we could boot him, but he never did.
Although friendly fire has existed since CE, so I don’t know how people would like it… I certainly would.

Yeahhh!!! Remove the friendly fire from BTB…great idea…so if i am in the warthog getting kills, the Wraith guy gets pissed of and destroys my warthog! Just like they do in Firefight!
I believe the be-fail system works based on the number of betrayals you and the betrayer have. If you betray “often” you can’t boot when betrayed. And if he betrays “incredibly often” you will get the option to boot. The system is completly broken however and that is pretty much fact.

Yeah, god forbid they hire people to monitor this. I know, creating jobs is sin.
Removing friendly fire from BTB and other team games is a bad idea. Imagine playing a game of CTF, and a guy takes your flag, stands infront of a wraith, and just gets pushed home. He takes no damage from the huge tank thing boosting into him, it just accelerates him down the road and away from your gunshots. Or imagine trying to kill a guy up close when he’s coated in his own team’s sticky grenades, constantly exploding and taking no damage.
Friendly Fire should never be off. They just need to make the betrayal system consistant. You should get one “accidental” betrayal, because mistakes happen, and after that, no matter who you betray next, they should get the option to boot. Even trolls will only be able to get away with murder once.
I preferred the old over-zealous betrayal system, this new one stinks and I’ve had people betray me multiple time without any option to boot.
I try not to betray back, just quit and move on to the next game and hope I don’t get betrayers again.
That sniper thing happen often, bungie is stupid.
hi custard
how come it was never a (big) problem in the other halos…but it is in his one? needs to be fixed.
