Betrayal : Kick the player out

When I was playing earlier versions of Halo, and you were betrayed by your teammate, you could kick him or her out of the game. What happened to that feature? I mean, most times, it was a mistake and you could easily dismiss it as such. But when a player intentionally betrays you multiple times, it’s time for a swift kick straight to the lobby system and a quick player review after.

Betray = out

Bring it back 343!!!

That feature is definitely in Halo: Reach, and just like in Halo 2 and 3, they have to get 2 or 3 betrayals before the option will pop up.

The boot system is a bit broken in Halo: Reach the sense that if a person betrays you and it doesn’t give you the boot option, if you immediately retaliate and betray them thereafter, it will give that player the boot option. I’ve seen this happen before multiple times with a friend of mine. He would get a power weapon near the beginning of a match. A teammate felt entitled to it and betrays my friend for it. No boot option comes up for my friend. He retaliates and betrays the person back. Within five seconds, my friend is booted from the game. It kind of caters to the little kids who feel entitled to the power weapons and will kill teammates who have them.

A modification 343i could make to the boot system (Which they won’t because Reach is a five year old game) is set up two variables. When a first betrayel happens in the match, have the boot system check the duration into the match and if the person betrayed had any weapons outside the default loadout. If the duration would be under 40 seconds into the game and a betrayed player did have a weapon outside the default loadout, it would immediately give the betrayed player with the power weapon the boot option. This would stop players who feel entitled in their tracks. It would be nice, but I don’t see it being implemented.
