This kid just betrayed my guest and I a combined 13 times on Ragnarok Neutral Flag and we never got the option to boot. How is this possible? Generally you get the option to boot after 2-3 betrayals… I didn’t even know it could go above 5. It got to the point where he was just killing us off spawn without penalty.

Not sure. I remember around the time H4 was launched that betrayal booting was just plain terrible. I’d have players Tk’ing me non-stop and I’d never get the prompt to boot them. Then, when I finally had enough and killed my aggressor just ONCE, I’d get booted off the server for betrayal. -Yoink- that -Yoink-.
I haven’t had that happening to me in quite a while though. In fact, whenever someone betrays me, I instigate them to kill me again and 80% of the time I get the prompt to boot them and off they go. So in my experience betrayal booting improved quite a bit.
Lol @ that curse word filter.
I know that in Heavies there is much less booting. I guess because it is easier to kill someone by accident in a vehicle, but it’s still freaking annoying to keep getting betrayed. They shouldn’t let you damage your teammates at all.

The booting system is messed up for sure. Sometimes I betray somebody on accident once and they get the option to boot me ridiculous!
I have played many games where I have been purposely betrayed and was unable to boot them. When I play Heavies I tend to get the Scorpion first and sometimes a teammate will throw stickies on it to badly damage it and sometimes even kill me, people that will try to betray you just because you got the vehicle first I think are just plain poor sports.
Other times people will just plain blow me up with vehicles or melee me until I die when I have the objective and most of the time it doesn’t give me the option of booting them.
I imagine that it’s fairly difficult to tell whether or not a player is intentionally killing a teammate or not. I’ve been booted for killing a teammate when I took out a full warthog with a spartan laser. It’s just hard for them to code that…
The betrayal booting system is something that can be really good or really bad. For instance it can be good when someone keeps intentionally betraying you but it sucks in the case that someone boots you even though you betraying them was a complete accident. As for how it works, I usually get the option to boot the player after the first or second betrayal.

I think that when a teammate throws sticky nades at you for boarding a vehicle before them or when or when they melee you from behind because you picked up a power weapon before they did or when they’re piloting a Scorpion and they see you planting a grenade on an enemy mantis and they shoot the mantis killing you with it, I think it’s pretty much safe to assume he did it on purpose.
