Betrayal Booting Needs to be Gone!

Whats up with all the losers out there that boot for obvious accidental betrayals. Seriously just got booted twice in a row by little kids I assume for my bro throwing grenades in piles of enemies only to betray a person on team walking into it. This betrayal boot system needs to be gone or something.

Maybe your bro should watch where he’s throwing grenades instead of carelessly tossing them where your team mates are.

Here’s a thought:

If you’re playing in a gametype where you can betray with AoE damage… exercise a little caution. Like you’re supposed to.

You only get the option to boot if that player has a history of betrayls. So…

Does it still have “X” as the button to hit to boot someone?

It’s possible that they died, hit X to respawn instantly, but accidentally booted.

Another button gripe while I’m on the subject. Does anyone else try to save their ordinance drop until they get out of a sticky situation…only to accidentally call it in while trying to switch grenades?

I just wanted to switch to my stickies…but instead I called in a speed boost, when I had an incineration cannon as an option. Then I died because I was confused at what was going on…then a teammate stole my ordinance. :frowning:

It was quite the bummer.

It is X but i think you need to hold it down. BUt like he posted most players boot no matter what.

You don’t get booted for one betrayal. So when it happens then there’s a pattern.

But the system is still flawed, e.g. a player betrays me for getting the sniper in KOTH. I betray him back. Next game another player betrays me for getting the sniper so I return the favor but I get booted.

After years of making FPS games it’s surprising to see developers make these noob decisions for game play.

I’m actually for betrayal booting, I would like to see more of it. It can be very annoying to have someone blow you up when you get a mantis that they wanted. In your scenario I understand the reason for not liking betrayal booting (I experience the issue of teamates jumping in front of me as I toss a grenade), however overall I’m happy about the betrayal booting.

There’s just no pleasing the Halo community. If you can betray, the booting option is bad, if you can’t betray, then players act more careless and steal power weapons.

I never boot unless it was a blatantly intentional betrayal. If I’m standing next to an enemy, and you shoot them with a Wraith, killing both of us, I’d forgive you. That’s fine. But if you’re just some prick that betrays because the think it’s funny, or because I “stole” your sniper, you’re gone.

Well your a rare player around the game. Most boot no matter what happened.

I had someone try to betray me EVERYTIME I got the Mantis. So i stomped him twice. Got booted. He heard a mouthful.

Here is an example of why I am FOR betrayal booting:

I was on Shatter Team Slayer yesterday.

I spawned and immediately went for the Ghost and got it.

The idiot in the Mantis then proceeded to immediately target me and destroy my Ghost and me for absolutely no reason.

Normally I am not a vengeful person, but that was completely uncalled for.

I splattered them thereafter in retaliation and the entire game was that person searching me out in the Mantis and trying to kill me.

The. Entire. Game.

This is exactly why Betrayal Booting needs to stay.

That is quite the story

i think boots for obvious betrayals like when they clearly attempt to run you over when they have a vehicle then it is deserved.

I’m actually ok with betrayal booting although I never have been booted, luckily. There have been a few occasions where I goofed so majorly and betrayed a person that I thought for sure they thought I was griefing.

There are mistakes then there is griefing. Booting is for griefers in my opinion.

Any one play CTF and you have the flag but some -Yoink!- betrays you to score the flag?? yeah that pisses me off and i cant boot them.

Thats where i think the game should be able to tell that you were killed by a teamate so he could get the cap. Objective based games need the booting system to be much harder when it comes to this like this

I agree with early post I only kick when I feel completely intentional.

i like no betrayals except for teammates being able to destroy the vehicle you’re in. unless that’s been fixed because i haven’t played in a while.
