Halo 4 is a great game. Its my favorite so far.
But there are alot of problems in the game that can be fixed.
In reach the public beta was pretty awesome. There were glitches and stuff like the super human melee speed. the armor locking on top of a person to reach a super human speed. the butter fly jumping. the health system. you get the idea. But bungie fixed all of that. they nerf some weapons like the rocket launcher cus it traveled fast or the dmrs bloom was ridiculous. That was all in the beta. Bungie fixed it cus the beta showed the flaws of the game.
If halo 4 had a beta instead of a rtx event or comicon thing where only a few people can experience it then there would be less problems and less compliants in the forums.
For example. Gears of war 3 had a beta and it had MAJOR PROBLEMS like the retro lancers recoil. i know this has nothing to do with halo but its an example of betas making a game great.
I love the halo series and halo 4. But i think the game was a little rushed. the launch of the game is in its beta stage not final stage.
But yeah. halo 4 needed a beta a to get back major feed back instead of millions of people complaining during the launch.
This is just my opinion. what do you guys think? do you agree with me?
People don’t go in there to test the game and find bugs like amateur QA testers. They go in there to shoot up some dudes. How many unique problems did players actually find in the Reach Beta that the official QA testers didn’t?
The thing is about Betas is that they take money to setup and run. Time and money. And time equals money. So Betas take up money^2 to setup and run. They also eat manpower and machines, manpower and machines that aren’t being used to improve the game.
Setting up a Beta for H4 probably would have yielded minimal positive effects while exacerbating the problems we currently have.

All the feedback I saw from the Halo: Reach beta was:
-“BUNG333 DIZ GAEM IS ST00P1D”
-“H@YL0 R33CH IZ GUNA SUKKK U SUK BUNG23!!”
-“OEMGEE AMOR LUCK IZ OPEEE!!!”
And “y you serious” is right. Look at what people said about the Battlefield 3, MoH: Warfighter, Gears of War 3 betas. They think of it as a demo and that the real game is gonnna be what they’re playing and don’t bother to leave feedback.
Because people on the forums are going to be fair, balanced, and most importantly: Objective.
Recalls the numerous ‘DMR should trump the AR at AR ranges because it take more skill to use’ threads. Recalls the numerous ‘DMR should be the jack of all trades and master of all trades as well’ threads.

No im talking about what the Reach beta addressed.

Weren’t there several Geometry holes in the final product of Halo 4 that apparently passed through QA testing, and were found almost immediately after the game launched? Hell, like two weeks after Halo 4’s released, I found a random geometry hole on Quarry.
Aside from stuff like that, I do agree that a public beta wouldn’t do much to fix the game. A Public Beta is just a way for companies to entice consumers to buy their final product.

Magnum RoF reduced slightly.
DMR ammo count increased to 15.
NR ammo count increased to X (whatever it was so you could get three perfect kills per clip.)
Plasma Launcher was Kratos’ed from Comedy Cannon to bad.

Half the fans liked the reticule bloom and half hated it. It will not be removed or modified.
Time for elite shields to regen increased from 3 to 4 seconds
DMR magazine size increased from 12 to 15 rounds
Needle Rife magazine size increased from 16 to 21 rounds
Magnum pistol magazine size will not be changed. This is final.
Plasma Launcer being nerfed a bit. It will take longer to lock onto enemies, have slightly less tracking ability, and the fire rate will be slower.
Grenades were overpowered in the beta. Frag power lowered by 1 more point, blast radius reduced, and timer reduced by 0.1 second. Damage is now set up such that if you are hit directly by a grenade now before having taken any damage, it will deplete your shields entirely but not affect your health.
Bungie admits melee was broken in the beta. The melee delay is now 5 frames longer, to equal what it was in Halo 3.
Aim assist now prioritizes targets differently. Previously it always made the decision based on proximity, now it takes more into account.
“Headshot fix”, which Bungie calls the most important change after the beta. No details on what exactly was changed.
“Golden Box” replaces Golden Triangle.
Vehicles made stronger so they are no longer destroyed so easily. Fix also made so that tank is not so difficult to get away from the spawn area in Boneyard.
Shields in the beta were not reporting damage correctly. This has been fixed.
Each DMR shot now does 25 damage to shields.
Various tweaks to gametypes and maps.
Reticule made brighter and easier to see. Also “fancied” up a bit.
Change made to make it easier to quickly see where you are taking damage from.
Plasma Launcher no longer spawns on Swordbase by default. Other weapon spawns changed as well.
Flag locations for 1-flag CTF changed. Swordbase moves it from top (where everyone just fought over the lift) to the 2-story room with the glassy balcony and vent entrance. Powerhouse moves it away from the rocket launcher and up on top of the roof of a building.
Stockpile UI was copied from Halo 3 and just confused people. It’s being completely re-done. Also, the return locations have been moved on Powerhouse to make it more fair for the team spawning on the bottom.
Magnum firing speed reduced slightly to make it more fair in battles against the AR.
Assault Rifle and Plasma Repeater damage increased slightly.
Sniper Rifle changed to make it more “idiot proof”
AL nerfed.
Yeah these are some significant changes from a Beta. The game still sucked, but the Beta helped balance the game out
