I can’t figure out why I’m having this problem, but my game keeps loading to the point where it shows the figurines. After that it brings up the Halo Wars 2 logo and then nothing.
When I close the game and open it again, sometimes it wont load at all and other times it does the same thing as stated before.
Is anyone else having this problem? If so, any solutions would be awesome, because this is bugging me really bad.
Mine froze at the Halo Wars 2 logo (and press B to skip) screen for about 1-2 mins then it started playing the tutorial video so I think you just need to wait a bit.
It took about 15 min and than loaded. Sorry to waste every ones time!

ya mine just freezes rite when the video starts and everytime I have to close it and restart, but still nothing.

I did that, but the tutorial screen then freezes.
I have having a similar issue. At the screen where it says “Thank you for your participation in this beta” it says A- Continue but when I press it nothing happens. I can’t get past this.
I had to restart it a couple of times.

i cant get past the main menu screen it keeps freezing on me as well
same hers goes to show that 343 have ruined the halo games I will not be getting this
Its a Beta it even says at the start its probe to bugs crashes. This doesnt prove 343 ruined halo.
Im just happy to play a good RTS on console.
Same here. Finally got past the “downloading data” screen which says the game will then restart. Upon restarting, the game freezes with the “halo wars 2” logo on the screen (not the screen with the menu button, the one after it once you’ve successfully dl’d the game data, etc).
I know I know… this is a beta to work out the bugs, but come on… How in the hell did the game make it past its development, past its alpha stage, and into an actual open beta??? Problems like this should’ve been spotted by at least ONE internal tester or ANYONE who tried to start up the game!
Im sorry, but it seems like once bungie left the halo franchise with Microsoft, MS should’ve gotten a better dev team who knows how to write compelling stories and doesn’t mess up every game they work on. Ever since 343 has had a hand in anything halo related, it’s been a disaster or bugged or broken mess beyond what an average dev would do. The only good thing I can say 343 has done was mo-cap and cutscenes on halo:mcc (but then again, that was blur studios who did the h2:a cutscenes… so the only good thing 343 did was involve blur).
Sorry, but the halo stories have been sub-par with 343 - which got even worse when they decided to continue the dumb plot/storyline from Spartan ops into halo 5. Each game they released had major issues (halo 4 was the least troublesome and that doesn’t say much), or they’ve had a bland/boring story, and/or were so messed up that the multiplayer component was literally broken and unplayable for weeks/months. It seems like they pushed out the MCC just to get some extra money and then they moved right onto halo 5, which was the weakest halo story yet that shouldn’t of even been released. Come on… did anyone actually think fighting the same boss 6-7 times would be fun?? H5 was the best looking, but the worst story to date. Yea, I bought that game cause I wanted to play 3 missions as chief. You know what… I’m ranting on here because of how annoyed I am at 343 for even being trusted to handle the halo franchise, and yes I’m getting off topic, so I’m sorry for that, but it is true that MS trusted the wrong people to handle the halo franchise and now again, here’s another game destroyed by 343 that won’t even start, a game many of us have waited almost a decade for, that should at least start up, but can’t… and it’s an open beta??? Come on!!!
MS needs to handle their business and get 343 in line or find a better team all together. I’m tired of waiting for the series to actually get interesting and fun. This is just a joke and sad that 343 has their stamp on a 4th game now, and this ones broken AGAIN. Fix your beta and deliver an amazing game already or you’ll lose the last of us holding our breath for a masterpiece.
tr;dr - my beta is broken and won’t start like everyone else on here. Then the rest is a bunch of ranting about 343 not being able to hold it down with the halo franchise 4 games in.

I’m not having that problem the only thing I had trouble with was joing a friend.
I uninstalled this game anyway.
Me too gonna uninstall reinstall see if that works
Similar issue to others on this thread. Attempt to load and seems to lock up on “Downloading the latest game configuration data…” screen. Going on 2.5hrs… Additional info, installed first on external storage device and had issue, moved game to internal storage. Same issue. Deleted game and commenced fresh install on internal storage, the application seems to freeze on the Downloading the latest game configuration data… Hope this helps
