I like these ideas, very much. What they should have done was creating a “Testing” playlist where they would do out of the ordinary, whacky things like this. Sure, BR starts may be all nice and dandy at 343i, but why not see how the community likes DMR starts in different playlists? Or see how Plasma Grenade starts work out on Truth as a nod to the original Midship? I undderstand that they want to focus on the base gameplay, and I respect that, but why not take the time to just try things out?

Exactly! I mean, at this point, we get the gist of how the game functions. It seems like a blown opportunity to test a variety other basic game play options.
I really think a DMR start would shake things up a lot. Its a much better ranged weapon, and it is also much less forgiving then BR for med-close range, allowing the assault rifle a more meaningful role. The point is… test it!
If I were 343, i would also want to test a hodgepodge of different controller schemes. Like, make ground pound = in-air + hold melee instead of squat. Make hover in-air + squat (and have it work hip and ads). Imo those are far more intuitive setups… and its a beta… why not test it!
They should be throwing all kinds of different things at us to test. Especially now that we are nearing the end. Everyone has a taste of the basics, time to shake things up.

I agree with what you are saying its a beta they should be experimenting and doing risks not just sticking to what they know…
