Beta Style Generator Defense

Hey who remembers Generator Defense from the Beta? I know that when they have FF VS you can get it but it dosent realy feel the same. I miss the 4V4 and the whole 2V2+covienent just doesent feel the same. I would love to see Gen Def like it was back in the beta who eles thinks that they should make it its own Playlist or incorporate it into other playlists and make it like it was in the Beta. Post what you think and whether they should give it its own playlist or incorporate it with other playlists. and if they incorperate it in to existing playlist what should some of the game types be?
My Ideas:

GEN DEF Invasion: Set up like Invasion but instead of capturing points they destroy generators

GEN DEF Invasion Slayer: as you get to certain kill points generators become venerable to damage (Unlimited Kills)

GEN DEF Infection: Zombies must destroy generators for every generator destroyed the haven shrinks and the zombies become more powerful

If you’ve played the beta remember the game type “Network Test 1” Which was generator defense. I found it to be EXTREMELY fun with 6 players (3 Spartans and 3 Elites) as the Spartans protect there generators the Elites must do there best to destroy them.

To me this game was awesome! But now in the final game theres the firefight version of generator defense which ends in 5 minutes because Spartans get over run. I just don’t think its fun at all but its original in the beta was the best.
I just wish 343i or someone would bring it back because I found it to be extremely fun. Does anyone agree or am I alone here?

I know…but its very fun with FF versus…very…fun…

Yes it was a New and Unique gametype that had miles and miles on its legs but BUNGIE was just using us for Network Testing and slapped us in the face when retail came along.

Yeah I really miss Generator Defense. I have actually been trying to find a way to recreate it, with the given tools we have. : (

Considering we’ve already seen that there are ways to change the game that we can’t utilize, I have high hopes that Generator Defense will come back.

me too! this gametype was super fun (even tho it didnt seem balanced since you could keep the generators invincible like 80+% of the time lol). i miss it too. iuno why they didnt keep it in the game for non-firefight games.

I never had the reach beta (because I sold ODST to a friend), but wasn’t generator defense a matchmaking gametype?
Why was it cut from the final game? Was it really that bad?

should it return in the title update (maybe with VIP as well?)

It was a 3v3 Spartans vs Elites playlist on Overlook. I assume it was used to test Campaign/Firefight networking. It would’ve been much more fun if it didn’t lag all the time.

so vs firefight with 6 players rather than 4 with no AI and generators?

There were generators though.

It was one of the gametypes that SHOULD have been in Multiplayer and not FF.

BTW, it was AMAZINGLY FUN, even with all the lag. It required a massive amount of teamwork to win.

Generator Defense in the beta was so much fun! I hope 343 brings it back

Generator defense is a cool game type for firefight and all, but I think it would be better suited in matchmaking. Perhaps 6v6? You could have attack/defend or 2 Generator.

it was originally meant to be in invasion you know.
