They say they are just polishing…there is plenty of time for a beta…and fix bad bugs on the way
No beta please. It ruins the sense of mystery and surprise. At first i wasn’t happy to hear there was no beta, but then I realized it really is a good thing.
in house beta only …
Remember, to make a Beta, you have to do more than merely copy and paste a build and label it as a Public Beta. You need to make sure that it contains no files that you don’t want the public to see, it has to be marketed, and the Beta itself needs to bug-tested so that the public gets something playable. It’d waste too much time just so the public could call in a couple of bugs testers may have found anyway.
People just want to play it early, anyway. Not many people test Betas in order to actually find bugs, they just want to play the game.

unless you work for them …
i just want to play early
yes beta please. Make the remakes of penance and swordbase the only playable maps in it tho.
I don’t want a Beta, because people are going to complain about every single thing in it and then we will only get half a game. >.>

thats assuming 343 actually gives a -Yoink- about what we have to say.

The things people are complaining about now are already in-game features that won’t be removed, not this late into the development stage, something like Sprint or the so called ‘perks’, what ever people are calling those these days.
The public beta for Reach fixed small things like movement speed & jump height being upped slightly, a headshot glitch which Bungie were aware of before making the beta public, the Camo bug with split-screen and made the Pistol bloom slightly more, as well as making its reticule a lot easier to see.
All these changes, with the right amount of beta testers and no doubt there will be a lot of private beta games going on through PartnerNet, there will be little problems when the game comes out and heck, if they see any problems from when the game goes gold before launch, they can always do a patch and release it day one.
Microsoft are a lot larger than Bungie, they can have network beta tests internally. So awesome

Eh, in all honesty, I’d rather they did not have a Public Beta, as someone else said, it ruins the mystery for us players, and any and all faults or flaws that the game could have can be found just as easily with their own Private Beta, and then they aren’t subjugated to the hellish crap of:
"THIS ISN’T HALOZ! EVERYTHINGZ MUSTZ BE CHANGEDED!"
…because we all know how bloody fun it is to sift through that…(!)
NO beta
Just a in house one for the people that work there…
THE END !!

dont play the beta then.
They are people who would love to try the game our BEFORE Release. Demo or BETA.

They will test Halo4 over Live too
PartnetNet is a diffrent Enviroment than Xbox Live.
A beta would be nice, and all. But I would rather have qualified people test the game. Instead of a bunch of 12 year olds.
