Beta >> official patch

Hello all,
Does anybody have a clue when the next patch will be out?

I can understand there are bound to be setbacks due to H5 development/it’s Beta and also that they are essentially patching:

5 games and their multiplayers… whilst also trying to
adjust the main UI and netcode functionality.

I just need to know if they’re days away or weeks away?!

Like many, this game was what sealed the deal on taking the plunge into the next gen console arena.
The only playlist in MM that actually delivers is Halo 3.
Halo 2 standard has poor hit detection…
Halo 2a boot’s after 30 seconds.
Halo 1 Poor hit detection.
Halo 4 Boots after 30 seconds.

It’s too late for me to take the game back… I was under the impression that these near weekly patches and “server side” tweaks were going to be continually delivered until completed.

Still no definitive date, but the most up to date info we have says it should drop in the next few days, at least by the end of the month.

I think in the beginning, after the first big update we had, 343 started to roll out weekly patches in the hope they could smooth things over. As the Halo 5 beta approached, it was apparent that this wasn’t working. I can’t confirm for definite, but I’m guessing the MCC team took the time during the beta right though until now to start their re-tooling of the matchmaking system and are going to release a substantial update very soon. They put out a content update back in January, but I think that was just to get something out there while they focused on the bigger picture. There was supposed to be a beta for this CU, but that was cancelled as it would have resulting in a delay to the general public getting their hands on it.

Depending on whether you bought physical or digital and when you bought it, you might be able to return it or you might now. For digital, contact Xbox Live support. For physical, it would be the retailer you bought the disc from. I think if you’ve made it this far, hold out for the next update and see what happens. Though you could always return and re-buy if significant progress gets made.

Yeah, heard about the delay…

I can’t say I buy that they didn’t do the public beta because it would delay the release. If that was the case, why would they have declared it in the first place.

I can only deduce that the patch beta wouldn’t have solved the problems and perhaps would’ve caused more issues. So they changed face and kept it indoors.

Hence why I’m curious to know when the drop day will be roughly.

I guess we’ll never know about the beta patch. I see where they are coming from though - releasing the beta to a group in 343’s timezone, getting them to test and report issues, fixing said issues and then packaging it up for QA and release would have pushed the public release back a little bit. Maybe it was to gauge response of who would be willing to jump in test? It was a bit weird to announce and then retract, but then again maybe it was to cover all bases. Either way they now have a list of folk willing to do focused testing for the community, that’s got to be a good thing. As for a rough date? I’ve been think Thursday or Friday. it has to be pretty close by now

Let’s hope soon. We should get a date in this weeks update which will most likely be posted by Bravo Wed or Thurs. I saw most likely because for some reason 343 seems to have the inability to communicate even basic things like what day of the week their weekly update gets posted.
