I feel like these Pros messed the game up. AR starts with pistols is the WORST. The pistol is so over powered, that Halo 5 has turned into a pistol fest… just like the shotgun has ruin Gears of War. As soon as the match starts, 95% of the match switches to pistol. The pistol is suppose to be a SIDE WEAPON to get that final one or two shots AFTER your primary gun runs out (quicker to switch guns than reload primary). For the pistol to be a primary weapon and actually challenge BRS and DMRS is laughable. What the F I’d going in with 343?

The Primary weapon shouldn’t be an AR. The problem isn’t the Pistol; the problem is the AR.
The Pistol was made to perform like a BR because, surpriiise, a BR is required in order to create a balanced, skilful experience, and the AR creates gaps in good gameplay.
I don’t know why somebody working there didn’t chime in and say “hey, instead of making the Pistol like a BR, why don’t we just… start people with a BR?”
Then, they could’ve designed the Pistol to act like a backup weapon.
The dedication and obsession 343 has shown to not starting people with a BR is very strange.
The one chance 343 had to finally create a solid, unified set of rules that define a competitive experience, and they miss the opportunity to make it BR starts.
Eventually, they’ll probably change to BRs because of the complaints, and once again, create a separation with half the playlists showing AR/Pistol starts, and half showing BR starts.

Autos have been buffed significantly in this game, and as such the Pistol also needs to be strong to keep up with the auto’s so you can defend yourself off spawn from both autos close range and players who have BR/DMR at mid and long range
How does this not make sense to people?
Is it because you just want to run around with an AR spraying and praying everyone and be rewarded for it?
I couldn’t really care less if we had AR starts or not.

This is the problem with this game. The pistol SHOULD NOT be able to compete with anything outside of plasma pistol and bolt shot. You should not feel comfortable doing ANYTHING with a pistol outside of running away and looking for a primary. Pistol should be used to finish off what the primary started… period.
