Best way to report known cheating?

I just played against a guy named [REDACTED] and he was definitely using an aim bot. Does anyone know the best way, other than file a report against him over xbl, to get rid of him???

File a report from their profile and move on.

Yup. Go to your dashboard, find the tab that shows all players you’ve encountered (most recent always shows at the top), select that person, click Report, choose the reason then choose File Report. MS support always look into every report that is filed and can tell if there’s legit cheating or modding going on and catches most of them.

Just remember to put them on your ignore list afterwards.

Unfortunately there’s almost nothing you can do. I have a friend who has used almost every method of cheating imaginable with no repercussions. Just hope you’re not matched up with him again. You really can’t expect more than 1 of 3 games played on live to be enjoyable.

Just gonna ask. Was he sniping out of the passenger seat of the Revenant?

Not relevant to his question. He asked how to report someone, either answer his question or provide information. There is no need to flame or pick on him.

Trust in the report button.

In this instance, it would be under “System Tampering”. Trust me, if enough people report him for it, the Xbox Enforcement Team will take notice and look into it.

Unfortunately, this is the best way of handling things rather than looking into each individual’s complaint. Not saying that this is you, but there ARE people who simply report people for cheating just because they lost, and cannot fathom how a player could be better than them. If the XBL Enforcement Team looked into each and every single complaint, they’d be wasting their time on nobodies rather than finding the true culprits.

Thus, when a player obtains enough negative feedback on the matter, the XBL Enforcement Team takes notice, and looks into it.

Trust the system.

On a related note, I ran into a guy earlier today who was playing with an AFK guest. I know this is considered boosting, and against the rules, I was wondering what the best heading to file my complaint under was.

…are we really not past people (for lack of better word) getting bunched up over AFK? …When halo 4 is just around the corner, and the majority arent even Near inheritor…thats sad…in others words move on, boosters will boost, i boost upon occasion… with halo 4 on the way im probably going to do it more often to see if i can hit inheritor…if i get wiped for it then so be it…halo 4 is coming soon so it doesnt bother me any.

So you’d rather play with a booster than someone who actually helps your team? You must have the patience of a saint.

I dont have the patiance of a saint lol, but…its a game…to take it seriously thats what MLG is for…otherwise…play…have fun…people will boost, just like its inevitable you will have kids screaming in your ear, ya it can suck…thats what the mute buttons for…just like the avoid player button is there…

343 allows it so there’s not a lot you can do but hope they didn’t make it easy for people to do in Halo 4

What? They do no such thing. If someone is TRULY using an aimbot, Microsoft bans them. 343 has no control over Xbox modifications. Besides which, those are rare and not as prevalent as people thing. 95% (if not more) of the time, much of the “aimbot!” cries can be explained due to lag, host, or other factors.

I dunno man, I like to win but I hate the MLG playlist for removing 90% of what I bought. If people restrict the tools I can use, you can bet that’s going to annoy me. It is a shame that they don’t have a playlist for people who actually play the game the way it was released/modified (Since I don’t have much of a preference between TU and Vanilla. I perform equally well on both, they simply require a small adjustment to my tactics). It might just be me, but I’d rather earn my credits/rank rather than being given a handout.

If they really were cheating, be sure to laugh at them for blowing $500 for the opportunity to mod online for a week, if you ever see them again that is.

Yeah, wonder how many times do you have to be reported to be looked into (not a hacker, check my stats). Because there are 100’s upon thousands of gamers. Haven’t ran into a hacker yet though. Except through real life. Won’t mention any names but he says he has gotten around 10 Xbox’s banned and is still hacking with some friends. I guess I would report him but i have forgotten his gamertag.

Albatross, you and Zedd can take that conversation to PM’s now.
