best way to farm grunt/jackal infantry?

Like the title says anybody know what the best way to farm grunt and jackal infantry is? I already have a couple charts bookmarked so im not asking which missions have the most im asking if there are any levels with a couple right near the start that are easy to get to and kill so i can farm them and get my covenant commendation to 100%.

You know, I just thought of Master Chief with a sheepdog and a stick rounding up Jackals and Grunts into a den… yes, I am very strange.

OT: No not really, and besides, farming is not usually welcomed here.

I advise running around some of the covie exclusive levels on easy until you get it, yes its a long method, but if you want that commendation, you have to earn it.

Good luck!

Chapter 1, Sniper Alley.

Very large ammount of both in this mission.

well that sucks but thanks anyway. ive been farming prometheans for hours and hours today. gave me the itch to go farm reach again. and who doesnt like farming spops on here?? besides ive already got almost 30k kills in spops and plan on hitting half a mil before i put H4 away for good.

I’ve never really farmed, I’ve just replayed every mission alot.

I really enjoy SpOps, so replaying the missions as much as I have got me 90% the way through Covenant and 50% the way through Forerunner.

dont get me wrong i love spops but its just easier for me to kill like 6 hours on a day ive got nothing going on doing the same repetitive action over and over while listening to podcasts and such. kills two birds ya know.

E4C4 starts you off instantly and always has those enemies nearby the start.

Episode 7, where you play on board the Infinity, has a ton of grunts and even more jackals in most chapters.

This link is a chart which shows the enemy count for each chapter of Spartan Ops.

You’d probably have to go back to Halo 3 to do that, 4’s AI isn’t as scared easily.
Ooops! Just read the OP, not what you were talking about. I was thinking keeping a pet jackal when you have Black Eye on! Anyways, probably one of the Reclaimer based missions.

Farming isn’t welcomed here? Since when? What?

lol I used to do that at the end of Crow’s Nest.

The panicking Grunts don’t attack you if you don’t shoot them.
The Grunts can be pushed when they’re not running.
The machine gun sandbag on the right side is an ideal place to contain the Grunts.
There are 3 deployable covers nearby.

lol, I love it how people say, “farm enemies”. Anyhow, Infantry class Grunts and Jackals, you’ll find them on normal on all Covenant only chapters.

Spartan ops. Find a few missions where it’s mostly grunts and jackals, and go in there on normal or hard with the DMR. Grunts take one shot to the head, same with jackals, if they have shields, one shot to the foot or hand, then one shot to the head.

thanks for this. ill probably use it to finish off my grunts once my prometheans are done.

Play on lower difficulties, if you aren’t already. Storm units appear more on Easy/Normal.

I don’t know if this is still live since its been a year since anything but I’ve been been doing ep3 ch4 and getting an average around 650 for grunts per hour and 400 for jackals per hour.

Just start the mission, select your first class as quick as possible. Run over to the ghost and by that time the enemies have dropped down, kill them all quickly and restart. I’ve been doing it on easy and 6 grunts drop and 4 jackals each time and its normally done in just over 30 seconds.

Try not to kill them in mid air as the rest tend to run off if you do, and because there’s no opening scene I find it really quick.

There’s a few sites out there that have exact statistics on how many enemies are in each level on Spartan Ops, they’re pretty handy, but be advised, it’s extremely boring grinding out hours of episodes on easy to get these commendations, and I’ve hardly done anything!
This site is pretty good
Hope this helps
