To me it seems as if close range weapons are terrible as it’s too difficult, and dangerous to get close enough for a solid kill.
Therefor, there’s 4 weapons to choose from:
DMR
BR
Carbine
LR
Carbine is less effective than the others.
Battle Rifle has kickback.
DMR and LR about the same. LR shoots slower though, so the DMR seems to be best primary in most situations.
Carbine sucks. A low damage but fast firing precision weapon, you might as well pick an automatic weapon.
Battle Rifle is decent at medium range but still a downgrade to the DMR because it sucks at long range.
Light Rifle has almost no aim assist and is the best at long range, pretty damn good at medium range too.
DMR is a slightly inferior n00b version of the Light Rifle with massive amounts of aim assist, therefore everyone uses it.
I try not using marksman weapons. AR’s and Magnums all around for me.
The Carbine would be ok (not great. Great would be 6sk and less spread) if it weren’t for that nasty green zoom screen. Some areas are just too bright. What the hell happened to the clear zoom?

It’s been a while since I’ve used the magnum anywhere but in campaign mode, but is it no longer a marksman weapon?
Might as well review the automatics:
Assault Rifle has the best range.
Storm Rifle requires you to lead targets and has slightly worse accuracy but is still very good at a range, and is superior to the assault rifle at close range. It is the most versatile.
Suppressor is the best at close range, but can’t be used beyond that. It would be a great weapon if the maps weren’t so large, map design makes an other wise good weapon a poor choice.
I prefer the Storm Rifle for it’s performance at close range while still being decent at medium range.

It can be used at long range if you have good aim and pace your shots, but it is still vastly inferior to the primaries if you do this. It’s best used as a close range weapon.
Close range weapons are really good, it’s you that are bad with them.
THE DMR outclasses every gun, there is no question about it.
I’m generally a straight up BR man, but ever since I unlocked the Reign skin for the Carbine I’ve been using that more because it looks badass. I would be happier if the Carbine was a little bit more powerful.
One or two bullets more powerful.

I refer to the magnum as my “anti-marksman” weapon. Gotta love pegging people across map with the magnum, usually catches people off guard.
I prefer BR. I’m always either at close range or mod-range. Sometimes Long Range. But I would hope you don’t go with that overpowered piece of -yoink- DMR (In my opinion. I’m just upset by how rediculous it is with everyone just spamming that damn thing in my face every time. If I get killed with other weapons. I don’t care. It’s just the DMR where I start to get -yoinked- because that is the only people ever use in this game and more and more, I feel like I’m gonna be forced to use a DMR, even though when I tried it in normal slayer (Works great in SWAT though, no complaints about the DMR in that actually, just other gametypes) and it failed. I feel like the DMR hates me sometimes.
I looooove the carbine, I main it now. Nothing more satisfying than beating somebody with the no-bloom DMR.

Stop contradicting yourself.
I only use the LR at long range now, along with the DMR.
I still use the DMR along with the BR at mid range and CQC, but sometimes I feel the need to use the carbine. The carbine is my favorite loadout weapon, but it’s too weak compared to the others.
