Can someone explain to me why the best players are more often than not unranked? What’s going on here?
what do you mean by this? it’s possible that all they play is btb or warzone and never get a rank. or it can be that they haven’t played since the last season ended, and when a season ends your rank resets so you have to get that over again.
It could be smurf accounts, players create an aternate profile and beat down on lower ranks. It’s been happening for years, or, they play social and rarely rank up.
Smurfs. If they are unranked and like SR9 or something like that with a 17 k/d then its obviously another account of a high ranked player.
the best players are not afraid of Arena playing people their own skill. Whenever i go into BTB when i have too many people in my party for 4v4 games i do get matched against good players.
Obviously it’s because they’re normally a higher rank than you and haven’t done their 10 games yet. You could be playing a champion that’s just got back from holiday, there’s no way to tell.
To be honest, I’m not sold on the ranking system anyhow. I’ve been destroyed by teams of golds and silvers before, and dominated diamonds and onyx players. I guess that sometimes these players are carried to a higher rank by their team.

this occurs WAY too often for this to be the key reason

smurf accounts are a likely culprit…
I literally just got my FFA ranking on Wednesday. I’m usually in a big party so I’m in btb or warzone a lot. I’m sure a lot of people do the same thing.

I agree. Some of it depends on if they were placed solo or not too. I’ve been ranked in gold in all playlists except FFA because I soloed my placements, but I normally play with a team made of platinums and diamonds. We’ve crushed diamond/onyx teams only to be stomped by a teams of gold/platinums the very next game.
If you’re asking about Pro players, they are always playing scrims in custom games. They play custom games 24/7 to scrim against other teams hence the fact that most of the pro’s are unranked because some of them keep switching teams. So they have to make a new account for every team.

What’s meant by placing solo? Just playing on your own without a group?

Ok, that makes sense. never thought of that one. sucks when your a plat/dia guy in slayer and the other team has a guy going 25-3 to everyone else’s even K/D. It’s a good argument against too short of a season.

Yep. It’s a gamble if you play solo. You could either get lucky and get teammates close to your skill, or they could be well below/above your skill.

Personally i feel that it may be linked to arena and csr i dont think they should of brought back the “divisions” like gold or diamond i feel as if the H3 1-50 system was generally more accurate,just about anyone can get onyx after a couple of wins.for example im diamond 1 in slayer and most of my opponets are gold or platinum and my teammates are generally the same and if im lucky i get matched with a few onyxs -.-
