Does anybody else think Halo Wars had the best opening cinematic? I loved Halo 3’s ‘Luck’ beginning, but overall I think that Halo Wars really did a helluva job. It’s something that we haven’t seen before and it did an amazing job, imo. The graphics are stunning and everything just looks…great, for lack of a better word. Who else agrees?
I agree that Halo Wars has some of the best cinematics throughout the entire campaign. The opening cinematic is epic, and the marketing trailers were so awesome. Cutter’s voice is perfect and fantastic for narration. Thanks for the link - reminds me again why I love this game.
I agree. It was pulled off perfectly.
The combination of the music, juxtaposition of the clips and Cutter’s voice-over was pulled off very well and I love the change of tone mid-way through where the Covenant gain the upper hand.

Definitely the best opening cinematic imo (I’m sure Anniversary will be coming in 2nd). When the marines are running down the alley with walls exploding next to them, then engage some frighteningly swull Elites. Then the warthog comes sliding in taking them all out. Then the comedy of the gunner firing 3 bullets the spinning 180 degrees to fire 3 more bullets and then repeats – back and forth and back and forth.
