Here’s an option I thought of the other night… It could work… but at the same time cause issues with people quitting…
But if people didn’t quit, and all went smooth, I think this would be REALLY fun in competitive matchmaking…
BEST OF 3 MATCHES…
Start with an OBJECTIVE… a SLAYER… then an OBJECTIVE.
When you get matched with the other team, it would show you the maps and objective type, then you play the best of 3.
I think this would allow for some really fun game play, as sometimes a team does REALLY good, and beats a team badly (only because they had a good round), but the other team could still come back with the next 2 matches…)
I feel this would allow for a new spin on match making (I like H5 the way it is…), but this could introduce a new way to play without messing too many things up.
You can play against the same players for that series (similar to a real tournament!)
And… to add onto that…
if not a best of 3, maybe give the option to vote for a “rematch” at the end of the match… you know a slayer game that was 50-48, but you want to play them again, with your same team (of random solo-queuers)… you could allow a vote for everyone to match in and play again.
And… finally lol - the old “join-up” option from Halo 3 allowed for a better community to play against other stacks…
What do you think on the best of 3 idea (I’m talking about team arena h5 as a reference… and bringing this best of 3 idea to Halo Infinite)

Would make matches too long, especially if you are either stomping or being stomped as now you are forced to sit through another match with them
Yeah, but what if this was an option for full parties to go into, preparing for a similar rank? (And decently balanced teams?)
As much as this would prove who deserves the win more so than one match only, I just see it taking too much time to complete a set. To get one real victory, it’ll take an hour per match or more. I like the idea, but I dont think it’ll work to everyone’s satisfaction.
This wouldn’t work out well for ranked.
It should be - if it would come - be a seperate playlist for something like “Spartan Company Battle” or smt like that. Kinda Clan-War
