Best Multiplayer Comeback?

Hey Spartans,

I’ve been seeing some threads about cool things you’ve seen while playing. But one I haven’t seen is a good comeback thread.

Describe a game where you were sure it was GG but then your team finally focused up or caught a break!

One that happened to me was my friends and I were doing a regular WZ game and we were down 750-200 (roughly) and all of the sudden we finally started getting kills and making moves then low and behold the other team starts spawning tanks. So we played it smart and hijacked their tanks, rest a good amount of them, took the spire and held our ground. Finally a few teammates captured West Armory and we had all 3 bases. Coooooore!! In the end a team that thought they had it in the bag lost to a bunch of unorganized Spartans. Always good to be careful.

Lemme know!

I don’t remember any distinct wins but I can say that my team or the enemy team makes big comebacks in warzone as well. It’s usually from killing bosses though.

Hey those are pretty great too haha

I remember having a match of Strongholds where the enemy team was around at 90 points. My team somehow managed to deny them captures long enough to win.

That’s a tough one! Excellent work

Not what I’d consider a good game but I once helped a team of randoms on Breakout (the old Breakout that is) from being 4-0 down to winning the game 5-4.

I even got a few GGs after that. :3

Hey that’s still a pretty good finish!

As far as Halo 5 goes my best comeback was in warzone. I was on a pretty bad team we’d been triple capped three times on Apex, only for me to get the far armory cap solo each time. It was 800-250/300 somewhere in there. So I capped the far armory (again) and pushed on to the spire. The warden spawns just as I cap it. So my team actually gets their act together and we cap the other armory and get the warden kill. I spawn a fuel rod and make a mad dash for the core. Long story short we weren’t out of it yet, and yes…we did destroy the enemy core.

My favorite comeback ever in Halo was a 4 v 1 in reach in slayer. It was about 49-46 and my team quits. I get a lucky stick followed by a kill with the Needle Rifle 49-48. I realize how screwed I am and pick up the shotgun and drop down and hide beneath the structure (I can’t remember the name of the map for the life of me, but it was an awful forge map with legs and a man-cannon if anyone can remember let me know and I’ll edit this) So I camp like a -Yoink- watching the clock click down and the enemy actually comes to look for me. One pops around the corner and I gun him down. 49-49. I can see his buddies on the radar and I should be nailed to the wall. All they have to do is toss grenades into my little cubby-hole and I’m done and dusted, so I toss a sticky at the entrance and back out. They charge in and Boom I win. 49-50 4 v 1. I got some hate mail after that one.

I’ve had a SWAT game where we were down by like 20…(and of course half the team quit) so me and the other guy huddled up and took the victory

Played a game on LAN, 8 v 8 Halo 2 One Bomb on Terminal. First to three plants, infinite rounds.

The other team (the one in my houses’s basement) had no trouble securing the first two plants, as our defense was in disarray. We couldn’t attack worth a damn either. But somehow, our defense rallied for five consecutive stops mostly featuring a stolen Gauss hog and Wraith, whereas we managed to plant three times and win the game.

The other team was pretty pissed, because they kept thinking each round was going to be the last one, but that wasn’t how we set it up.

Same here - my heart was pounding when the tiebreaker round came about.

I once joined a Warzone in progress, which of course means that my team was losing, having had to cope with one of their player slots empty until I joined. We were lagging behind by something like 300 points. Despite being severely outgunned, we slowly started to catch up by holding our bases and killing a few bosses, but were still too slow, and the enemy approached 900s and we were still somwhere in the 700s.

Deciding there was not much that could be done, I decided to go and take control of one of their bases, an armory that was not the main battlefield and left poorly defended. I quickly eliminated the Marines and a few Spartans. During that time, my team somehow managed to take the other remaining base.

I successfully captured the armory, leaving the enemy core vulerable. We rushed to the core as the enemy team mounted a desperate defense, and we actually managed to destroy it.

The final score was 988-1000, victory by core destruction. The initial gap wasn’t that great, but I was especially happy with allowing the team to comeback and secure the victory at what was effectively the very last minute. Had it taken 30 more seconds, our loss was certain.

Usually when I play Halo multipllayer online this kinda thing happens: I star my game pretty good getting many kills but then I just die about 10 or more times without killing anyone, I dont know what happens.

That’s always annoying

Down 49-41 on Midship. Killed the guy with the sword and picked up 7 sword kills and a teammate had another and we won 50-49. I was really happy lol.

Thanks, this was some time in the spring of 07. Still cant believe we won it!

While playing a game of Breakout (old version) my team was down 0-4 and facing elimination because the enemy team always got the Hydra before we regrouped, I finally decided I didnt want them to get it anymore and as soon as the 5th round started I ran for the Hydra and took out both the enemies going for it and one the round with eliminations. After that we had two people on Hydra and two people heading for the flag and won 5-4 after an almost crushing defeat.

Very nice! Good work

I got triple capped once on Raid on apex 7. My teammates and I, snuck to the enemy armory and the spire and managed to capture both. The enemy team went for the spire and we captured the remaining base. The tides turned in minutes and we made it painful for them. They missed their shot, we landed ours. After a little bit of purging, we cored them. I bet they were really mad.
