Best Loadout Combinations...? Discussion..

Curious to know what types of Loadouts players are putting together early on in the game. For most, and with the level cap, it may be too early to really have all options unlocked but it’d be interesting to discuss what combinations you’re having success with and what combinations just flat out don’t work for you.

Here is mine but still very early in the Spartan career (only SR13):

Primary Weapon: DMR
Secondary Weapon: Magnum
Grenade: Frag Grenade
Armor Ability: Hologram
Tactical Package: Shielding
Support Upgrade: Dexterity

I’m finding that many players are “falling for” the Hologram. In Reach, it wasn’t as effective because you had to give up Sprint ability in order to utilize the Hologram. Now that Sprint is a permanent fixture, I’m finding the Hologram to be quite useful in 4v4 Slayer. Getting your opponent to take just a shot or two at your hologram allows you to get that critical first hit on them with the DMR and bring those shields down from a mid-range distance. I’m a more “mid-range” player and I’m finding it to be a great combo (although I still feel cheap sometimes using the hologram…but…at least it’s not Armor Lock!) Dexterity is also great in that it reloading and weapon swapping is incredibly fast. This probably won’t be a useful combination (hologram and dexterity) in Big Team Battle or larger scale maps but I’m finding this to be a solid Loadout early on in my Spartan career.

What other Loadout combinations are working well together?

I’m only SR-11, so I don’t have the Support Upgrade, but my favorite combination by far is DMR, Magnum, Frag, Promethean Vision, and Shielding.

I love the Promethean Vision. It nullifies campers. Someone has a Sword and is waiting around the corner, use PV, throw a couple of grenades and the enemy is gone.

I need to work on my DMR/BR pacing, however. I find that I’m losing 1-on-1 battles. Just need to play more.

I like using dextirity, mobility and promethan vison togther. Find you target, run to him/her, make the kill then reload to be ready for the next one.

I haven’t really spent much points at all, but I am SR12.

I have only really played Infinity Slayer and my load out is:

BR
Magnum
Frags
Promethean Vision

It’s pretty decent, Probably going to buy the DMR for my second loadout and then one of the packages.

About the same as op at the moment. Except I’ve been using the jetpack.

Personally, I really like the covenant carbine in MP.

But the BR is essiantial in my loadout, along with mobility and dexterity.

I also enjoy showering foes with my storm rifle!

hollogram is simply beast mode!

I’m SR31 and my favorite loadout at the moment is:

Primary: DMR
Secondary: Assault Rifle
Grenade: Plasma Grenades (still testing)
Armor Ability: Thruster Pack
Tactical Package: Firepower
Support Upgrade: Dexterity

In CTF, BTB, and Dominion I swap out Firepower for Shielding and bring a Plasma Pistol as my Secondary weapon. Sooo good against vehicles.

I use the dmr and plasma pistol because it makes quick work of enemy vehicles. I would use mobility to get into the fight quicker combined with the jet pack. Many people think the dmr is medium to long range but with well placed shots it kills as good as assault rifles. I’m SR34 so I don’t know if you have the support that increases your motion sensor but if you do knowing that there near before they do will give you a chance to crouch and ambush when near

What’s everyones option on Explosives? And is it Awareness that lets you see radar while scoped in! I’m thinking of putting Awareness to my btb loadout instead of Explosives…Need to test this, I zoom in a lot with my DMR in btb so that might be useful.

I think that the best loadout to start off a match would be:

Primary Weapon: Carbine
Secondary Weapon: boltshot
Grenade: Plasma
Armour Ability: Active camouflage
Tactical Package: shielding
Support Upgrade: Dexterity

If you can’t get every shot in when using a rifle, switch the carbine to a DMR. If you can aim without missing a single shot, the carbine is good because it kills 0.2 seconds faster than a DMR or BR. The boltshot works like a shotgun at close range and can deliver instant kills if properly utilised. Plasma grenades work best because they are impossible to get off once stuck. Also, pulse grenades are easily dodged and are mainly only useful for distracting your opponent. plasma grenades, like other grenades, can also be thrown more directly by hitting sprint right after loosing the grenade. Active camouflage is good for smaller maps, but i would exchange it for Promethean vision in mid to large maps.
I prefer shielding but this is less important to the loadout. Dexterity in my opinion is the best support upgrade, but like my tactical package preference, this is just my favourite.

Regeneration Field or Invisibility
AA Efficiency or Shielding
Awareness or Ordnance Priority

Anything else I would have to say Promothean Vision and Invisibility are the best abilities, the rest seem pretty Meh to me.

Best of both worlds with the DMR and BR.

I’m a 59 and my favorite is

AR
magnum
jetpack
mobility (unlimited sprint)
dexterity (fast reload/weapon swap)

I get accused of being a noob with this class A LOT and I’m pretty sure this class causes the most people to rage quit.

Basically, this class makes it so that whenever you round corners on an enemy, you have about a full second of shooting at someone before they realize that you are up in the air. And even then, aiming at someone above you is much more difficult than aiming at someone on an equal level. They are usually dead before they knock out my shields (unless there is more than one of them) but even if they get my shields down, they will have a hard time getting a headshot.

This loadout would probably be considered OP is more people used automatics. But it seems that even casuals prefer the precision weapons (most noticably the DMR, everyone prefers that rifle).

Light Rifle has the DMR’s accuracy when scoped and the BR’s 3-shot burst when shooting from the hip. It also does good amounts to enemies. Boltshot annihilates people up close with well-aimed charged shot. Frags make up for my poor grenade tossing skills since I can’t stick worth -Yoink-. Thruster is helpful for reaching cover in a pinch and sidestep away from vehicles trying to splatter me. Mobility to get from point A to point B faster without waiting for sprint to cool down. Ammo makes up for the LR and Boltshot being ammo chewers.

But that’s just me. It’s how I like to play.

I do objective mostly so I’d rather have more ammo than reload quicker. Also the Thrusters are nice when I need to dodge something.
