Hello, Im currently using ax720’s, I’m looking to upgrade to a better more premium headset. I’ve looked at the a50’s and the turtle beach tango’s. They both have their pro’s and con’s. I’ve noticed that a50’s are having more issues.
So I’m coming here hoping someone can shead some light on what might be better…
Also if your using something that I have listed please feel free to post it here and give me a link and your review on the headset.
Im Using Tritton Pro+ right now, but I think they’re too heavy. Astro A40’s is what ive heard from everyone so far is the best to get and if you like wireless look up into the Tritton Warheads they’re supposed to be BEAST!
You’re better off posting this on the MLG forums. They’ll be able to help you better than Waypoint. I use Turtle Beaches however I’ve never tried Trittons or Astros so I can’t really compare. But I’ve never really had any problems with Turtle Beaches.
I’m using my first gaming headset for Xbox (I have one for PC) and I got the halo 4 headset to start. Eventually I’d like to move on up to something with surround sound, but I honestly can’t complain with the quality of the H4 Trittons…
Here, let me help you save some money if you are considering buying Astro’s. Don’t get A50’s as the only difference is that they are wireless and if you are playing serious Halo you don’t need the wireless feature(It also has voice lag and low quality microphone transition.). The A40’s as a headset are overpriced and break easily so avoid them. What you should get is the Astro Mixamp plus Steel Series Siberia v2’s.

What about the tangos? any1 have advice on that headset?
@Ka7aclysmiK, thank you for your advice i will look in to that, also do they even sell the mixamp seprate anymore?
+1 on the Astro MixAmp
As for the headset I use Astro A30’s since you can bundle buy them. But I’m sure there’s a better alternative to them. THe mic is pretty good though.
I got the Tritton 7.1 Warhead (Halo 4) simply because it’s the only licensed headset which is wireless and doesn’t require a chat cable linking the headset to the controller.
I use the astro a40s…and they’re awesome! I’ve tried turtle beaches at a friends house, but I didn’t like the sound at all. I also didnt like how when people would talk it would automatically lower the game volume.
I’m rocking the Astro a40’s and I’ve had them for a year. I used Turtle Beach x12’s and I have to say that the Astro’s sound way better. except for the bass. I use my Turtles for the extra bass in music. Astro’s can only break if you throw them or not taking care of them. If you have the budget, I’d say go for the Astro’s a40’s (MLG Approved) or if your stuck between the Astros and different headphones, look up “Astros vs (headphones you want here)”
Money isn’t really an issue, I’m just looking for something better than my current headset. I’ve been folling the astro forums for the new a40’s. People seem to be having issues with them, and the same with the a50’s. I thinking the tangos or serria’s… But also I’m looking into the a combo with the steelseries with a mixamp.
