What is your guy’s favorite Halo of all time. My top 3 for campaign in order are: Halo Reach, Halo 2, and Halo 3. my top 3 for Multiplayer in order are: Halo Reach, Halo 4, and Halo 5. what are your favorites?
Halo CE - Campaign
Halo 2 - Multiplayer
Halo 3 for both. I’m a sucker for that equipment and wish they continued to work with that instead of introducing abilities.
Campaign: CE
Multiplayer: Halo 3
Soundtrack and campaign: Halo 2 Anniversary
Multiplayer: Halo 5

finally, someone agrees with me.
Campaign-halo 2
Multiplayer-halo 5
Halo 3 on both for me. Really enjoyed Halo 2’s campaign as well it’s right up there as well as ODST.
Campaign: Halo 4, Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 5, Halo Wars 2.
Multiplayer: Halo CE, Halo 4, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Reach.
Campaign: Halo 2
Multiplayer: Reach
I believe that Halo Reach or Halo 2 are the best Halo games, as i believe Halo 2 has the best Campaign and Halo Reach has the Best custom games and and the best Multiplayer all tho i believe that 343 should add a custom browser for Halo Reach. Thats my opinion, you all have yours, thanks for listening.
Halo 3 multiplayer (Is the best only for the minigames with the different maps)
Halo 4 campgain (Is very underrated and is very Good).
This is the Hardest question I’ve had to answer.
I just have so many good memories of playing Halo 2’s campaign with my brother and all the good times in Halo 3 with the boys.
I don’t think I can choose.
Campaign & Multiplayer
- Halo 2 (Being Godlike)With Halo 3, Halo Reach, & Halo 2 Anniversary all being godlike as well, but just a brutes hair below Halo 2
Campaign: Halo Reach, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo CE, Halo 3:ODST, Halo 4
Multiplayer: Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo Reach, Halo 3, Halo 4.
PS: 4 being last doesn’t mean it’s a bad game but it’s my least favourite compared to the others.
If I didn’t like it, it wouldn’t appear. The only things I don’t like about it is the visuals (and by that I don’t mean graphics) and the MP.
campaign: h2, h4
multiplayer: h2a, reach, spartan Ops from h4
forge: h5
This is tough. I mostly play for story, so I’ll rate them by that and leave it be.
Without the trans-media franchise, and leaving only the games preceding each release to influence the story of the games I’d rate it as such:
1 Halo OG It’s story is a little dry by 2020 standards but if we’re strictly going by Halo game stories, this is good stuff. Very mysterious.
2 Halo 3 felt very straight forward. A lot like CE, and I loved it for that. Ultimately though, felt too short for the story they were trying to tell. Rushed the last 1/3
3 Halo 4 This story was heavily reliant on the trans-media, but not entirely. There was a lot here to digest, but a lot of it wasn’t required, with the new style of terminals that Halo CEA introduced having full videos to explain things it wasn’t as bad as it could have been, and a lot of what was in the terminals in Halo CEA did impact Halo 4 and it’s story. Who the heck was the Didact…ok…Halo 3 terminals mentioned him, but he didn’t seem evil…so what gives…that needed explaining and I know some people stopped here with Halo 4 because it gave them mental whiplash.
4 Halo 2 Though I love the Arby, and his importance can’t be overstated, the going back and forth between perspectives was a bit much at first, holds it back. Subsequent play throughs do improve this, but as a first time play it is the very definition of mental whiplash, and that cliffhanger ending.
5 Halo 5 This story was HEAVILY RELIANT on the trans-media, or you literally had NO IDEA what was going on. Assuming you read the comics, or actually played Spartan Ops, It immediately Suffers from the same fate as H2 with perspective, and Halo Reach / ODST with lack of interest or care for any of the members of Osirus or the other bad guys. Plus 5 battles with the Warden Eternal that all play the exact same way. Come on, ignoring gameplay problems, and just sticking to story, this is extremely weak.
6 Halo Reach The story here wasn’t too bad, a little bland. However, we already knew Reach fell, Halo 2 and Halo 1 explained as much. With no building of character within the game it gave us no reason to care what happened to anyone. We were literally on a ride to shooty mc shooty the big bad, on a greatest hits tour of the best Halo combat moments…fun but not very much thought required.
7 Halo 3 ODST Unfortunately the same as before, we barely knew any of these guys, and most players I know put a bullet in H2/H3 ODSTs heads for their ammo or weapon…so.
I didn’t include Wars, but I’d put them up towards the top, at least for Wars 1 not so much Wars 2 because there was some stuff in that game that really stretched what we had in the games, and without the trans-media franchise to prop it up, things fell flat.
I would have to say that my favourite campaign story is Halo 2, that is the one I can remember the best and it’s also the first Halo game were I played with a friend through the campaign, lot of good memories.
As for multiplayer, Halo 3, only Halo I have played multiplayer in.
Campaign: halo odst
multiplayer: halo 3
Halo 4: Campaign (I know I deserve to die :/)
Halo Reach n’ 2: Multiplayer
