Best guns for PvE

Shock Rifle. This thing is a monster. AoE, multi hit Sniper Rifle. It’s the only headshot weapon that can kill a Brute instantly, simultaneously knocking off its helmet and popping it in the head. It has no recoil, can hit enemies behind cover, and stun them with electricity, and even can shut down vehicles. Shock Rifle can also take down an Elite Ultra’s shielding in one magazine. This thing is probably the number one overall PvE gun.

Ravager. Yeah, maybe a bit useless in PvP. But for enemies that are willing to soak their feet in burning plasma? This thing is devastating. Use cases may be slim, but consider picking it up next time you’re against a Hunter pair. They melt.

Pulse Carbine. Again, not the most useful PvP weapon, but this thing is EVERYWHERE and you don’t even have to have good aim to use it. It absolutely melts shields, meaning that between this and a headshot weapon, foes don’t stand a chance.

Commando. High ammo capacity and moderate ROF mean this thing is going to last you for a lot of headshots if you use it right. Excellent for 2-shotting Jackals, arguably the best weapon in the game for it. Just… don’t hold down the trigger.

Scorpion Gun. Duh.

My favourite is the Mangler. Shreds most brutes In 3 shots

I’ve found the sword to actually be pretty useful, it feels pointless on every other Halo game on Legendary.

The Duelist variant seems to come with a speed boost which is great.

I did my first campaign on legendary n it seemed like the Pulse Carbine, Sentinel Beam, n BR held me down the most through that play through.

Thought the Skewer was bad but found it useful against the hunters so it became my main hunter killer.

Interesting about the Skewer. I used one to take down a Phantom in 4 shots. Recently discovered the Sentinel Beam is quite the monster as well.

For my legendary playthrough, the top weapons I found were…

  1. BR (best overall)
  2. Pulse Carbine (best anti-Elites)
  3. Flexfire (best snipe option)
  4. Sentinel Beam (best anti-Sentinel)
  5. Skewer (best anti-Hunter)

Commando is good too but I just don’t care for that gun. Also Needler is very good for Brute/Elite bosses, if you can shoot through the fully upgraded Drop Shield it will shred them. Same with Bulldog for mobs.
