Best CQC weapon

I was wondering what your opinions on the best CQC weapon in Halo 4 right now. Since the scattershot is new and nerf, and the shotgun and energy sword have changed a little. I’m also going to include the hammer because it has not been confirmed or denied.

I would say Scattershot. That thing can bounce shots off of walls- which is great for those who try to evade around corners and escape damage.

if you mean the best in terms of power than I would have to say the shotgun, if you meant the best in terms of design and such I would have to go with the sword.

I’d say the Scattershot now…

Aesthetics wise the Energy Sword will always be my favorite looking CQC weapon.

I’m not sure. I’m just wanting your opinion on what you think might be the best.

My personal opinion is that the sword is the best weapon in terms of killing other players who don’t have CQC weapons. It is the best at killing players carrying standard weapons or ranged power-weapons.

However, the sword is quite poor vs shotgun (and scattershot for H4). The hammer is essentially a shorter range sword.

I think some sort of buff should be given to the hammer, so that incoming grenades/rockets etc can be deflected with a somewhat medium degree of ease so that it has a partially different niche than the sword.

i say shotgun in the assumption that they will increase the range. To balance against scattershot and swordlunge.

I’m worried about sword being OP. The reason for this is everyone will have sprint AND can take thruster pack as a loadout. Imagine the combination of sprint, thruster and sword lunge? Players are going to be covering some epic distances in a short time.

I’m sure they won’t be able to combo together and I’m worrying over nothing though.

Currently, the scattershot. I heard 343i even say its way too powerful right now
