Ever since I’ve started playing Halo 5 and MCC I’ve been using the default controls, so any suggestions for both games would be greatly appreciated.
I have Bumper Jumper for everything. But I now use an Elite Controller with all the paddles in use I haven’t played MCC with it yet only Halo 5.
Basically Bumper Jumper all the way! The least amount of time you take your thumb off your right stick the better.
I’m most comfortable with the Halo 4 control scheme… but I’ve heard if you want to perform well, most recommend Bumper Jumper.
I guess it depends on your buttons you want quick access to and what button combo you want to comfortably press.
Only thing is once muscle memory kicks in it’s difficult to change it. I tried making some updates to my layout and I just couldn’t forget it so I had to undo it. I have muscle memory for every single button I tried to change 3 buttons. now I’m in limbo with my muscle memory cause I can’t forget my original loadout at all in tight situation and during the start of the engagement a little bit of muscle memory developed on the newer load out I was trying.
Idealy I’d say you want the buttons you press the least with x y a b. So I left reload where it is and switch weapons. I put sprint and grenade there too to cut down on over use though the small time frame on grenades limited their usefulness.
Bumper Jumper, been using that since halo 3

Hey a fellow H4 control schemer!
We are a rare breed, my friend.
I go with recon personally.

Recently i started to use the Bumper Jumper and works fine, but i dont play halo mcc yet.
So works fine for HALO 5
Recon!
Recon is wonderful for any Halo demographic, as it closely resembles the original controls.
Recon or Halo 4 control scheme is good.
