Best books

I recently finished the fall of reach book and it was amazing, what are the best books in the series?

Tough question! Fall of Reach is a classic, and First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx are excellent follow ups. My personal favorite book has to be Contact Harvest though. I won’t spoil it for you, because I assume you haven’t read it. I’ll just say that it gives a lot of context to the origins of the Covenant War and serves as an origin story for several important characters.

In case you haven’t played it yet, since Reach has dropped on MCC, I’ll also just warn you that Fall of Reach and the game Reach do have conflicting canon, but 343 has put a lot of effort toward reconciling the two stories.

I started playing reach as I finished the fall of reach and it definitely conflicted the canon, spartan 3’s didnt exist in 2552 (says the fall of reach) but there you are playing as one in reach. I dont care since I’m not diehard about this stuff. So far the flood, ghost of onyx, harvest, and first strike are on my lis.

Watch this. It’s the newer version that dives into the canon inconsistencies between the book and the game. Bungie did mess up a bit on the canon side of things, one the very few blemishes on their otherwise impeccable track record in my mind. I watched the older version of the video I linked, but Halo Canon is a great channel!

As for books, it’s quite hard for me to pick one over the other as all the authors do an incredible job bringing the universe to life. Not very specific, but hopefully it makes you feel at ease knowing there are a ton of good books!
