Benq monitor will it make a difference?

So im a total naab at Halo5, fps on console coming from mouse and keyboard is hard. but tactics and so on come easy thankfully.
So im competetive, well i will be

Is the upgrade from normal TV to something like a 1ms Benq monitor worth it?.

Even tho i suck i get the feeling sometimes from when i played CS on a bad monitor ā€œthat dude saw me before i saw himā€.

I went from a 52in Tv(65ms) to a 28in Monitor(6ms) . It was a huge difference for me. But I also did other things to help. Such as Kontrol Freak joystick Grips. I think it also helped that i didn’t need glasses for the small monitor as I was sitting close enough obviously not to need them. But it all seemed to help. My KD on Warzone went from .5 to now 1.39. I also focused on improving my aim first then work on evasion. Its all helped. I went from a gold 1 in slayer to now I’m a Platinum 2.

Not for me, optic fiber makes difference.

I was thinking about getting one too this one in fact BenQ RL2755HM 27 inch Console Gaming Monitor
i think it will help with getting the first shot on most enemies if they are on regular TV’s but the rest is up too your accuracy and skill to finish the kill.

I think the thing that helps the most from a monitor is you generally sit closer and that really helps for spotting the enemies that may be a bit harder to pick out.

After switching from a TV to a gaming monitor, I can never go back (at least not for shooters).

Depends on how bad your tv is. Some have horrible input lag, and the monitor will make a huge difference. Many newer ones with game modes cut the the lag down to acceptable levels, but not quite as good as a Benq.

I tried to go to a tv after playing with a monitor for a long time. I thought everything was fine, up until i turned my joystick. I could instantly tell ā€œthis is a lot slowerā€, then proceeded to return to my monitor.

Just the kind of answers i needed thx guys. I will be looking to get a 27" Benq console gaming monitor. And thx for tip on working on aim before evasion.

I like playing competetive regardless of my skilllevel atm

Yeah or just turn your tv to PC mode so you cut all the crap of completely when you are gaming. If you are super competitive and training for a tourney or whatever then I guess a monitor is worth it. If you want to enjoy the game though on a big -Yoink- TV and don’t plan on ever entering tourneys etc I wouldn’t worry just play the game on your TV in PC mode that should be good enough.

Also don’t be too hard on yourself if you lose a lot at first. You will get better. Aim for the head as well with the BR and pistol and DMR.

So i got my monitor yesterday, a Benq RL2455HM just played a few hours after setup. Feels very different from my TV, by no means makes me a halo god, but it clearly feels better/faster/clearer and my game felt like it had an improvement my stats shoved it anyways.

Also noticed i didnt have the watering eyes that i usually got in front of the TV.

So setup complete XBOX one - Benq - Razer Wildcat, now just have to get some damn skills, and teammates. Been playing console now for 3 months and the controller is starting to feel a little less like ā€œwtf is this in my handā€, ā€œwheres my mouse and keyboard atā€ and more like home.

If any of you have some good settings for the monitor, please post them, as i havent fiddled around with it yet.

Also its worth playing with your controller settings. Deadzones and sensitivity can make a real difference.

Playing on any monitor will make a difference compared to playing on a large TV…this also includes basics such as seating position as you generally are and feel more closer to the action. I’ve started using a standard VGA monitor with a HDMI to VGA convertor cable, and whilst its not as good as a HDMI monitor, it is much better than playing on my 46" HDTV.

Do some googling on the settings, but the main thing is:

Monitor: HDMI RBG PC Range set to RGB (0~255)
Xbox: Display & sound, set colour space to PC RGB

This will help fix the washed out colours on standard settings. Most other defaults are fine, try playing with brightness though.

I started playing Halo 5 on a 60 inch and sucked for the first few months I played. I finally said enough and got a 24 inch 1ms gaming monitor and it was like night and day. I’m still not awesome or anything, but my KD has been positive ever since I switched.

So I say yes, it’s worth it.

Must be nice to not need glasses. I may be near-sighted but im still practically blind. i have to be a fist away to see letters clearly.
