I had an idea today while going through the “Most Recommended” pictures on the File Browser on Halo Reach today. Clans are growing immensely, and it shows through how many Clan Photos have flooded the file browser.

Well, since they are growing, why not give them a home in Halo 4 War Games (AKA Matchmaking)? Now, first things first, the name could use some work, so suggestions will definitely be considered.

Now, Rules of the gametype. There will be 2 separate playlist inside of this, Large Squad Games and Small Squad Games. Large, would be for 8v8, and Small for 4v4. But what makes this different than regular playlist, is that you MUST have a party of 8 to play the Large Squad Games, and you must have a party of 4 to play the Small Squad Games.

This benefits to all of the Halo Community because there will be MUCH less of going to play some Halo for some relaxed gaming, and all of a sudden you are matched against a full team of 8, and you are with a bunch of randoms. Before you know it, you are spawn trapped with nowhere to go and you are now frustrated beyond all extent because of this. It will make a larger percentage of your games in Halo 4 War Games more enjoyable.

Also, for those interested in clans, it gives you a time where you can be extremely competitive.

Afterthought: It would also be great if there was an in-game group system so you could create an official group, and then when you go to look at someone’s stats you can see the group they are with, and their overall record against other groups in “Squad Games”

this actually isnt a bad idea, but custom games usually works better for clan battles, from all of the planning it takes to have a clan battle, what i think would be awesome is for halo to support clans like guild wars where you make a clan cape and logo

Halo could support making custom logos for clans to really represent what clan you are in and having clan leaderboards to show the rankings of all of the running clans

Im Part of a Sangheili that -Yoink- on randoms all day and even though its boosts my K/D I would like some more hardcore games.

Frankie during an interview pretty much said there’d be no In-Game support for clans, however stuff like this would be handled on Waypoint.

Hmm, disappointing, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t implement it at a later time, or at least give the playlist.

With the expected Halo 4 population I doubt that would be too big of a problem.
