When I first started listening to Hunt the Truth, the name of the narrator struck as nothing, no significance. But when I dug a little deeper I found that the man narrating Hunt the Truth, Ben Giraud, had a lot of similarities to the man depicted in Second Sunrise Over New Mombasa. Both are war journalists who are African-American males, who just so happen to do the same kind of war photography, cleaning it up, or for those ODST fans, “keeping it clean.” Both were in New Mombasa in the old Mombasa section of the city when the Covenant attacked. You can even see the Scarab from Outskirts in the Graphic Novel. But the really interesting part doesn’t come from the Novel itself, but from the artist. His name was Jean Giraud. Know the protagonist wasn’t ever named in the story until Jean died in 2012 and they named the protagonist Ben Giraud in his honor.
So I wanna know; what are your guys thoughts on these events, and how did he escape death in the end of the comic?
