Okay so I got banned for one week no microphone. Why? Because I was using the xbox “kinect” microphone and someone heard the game playing through that microphone. Now, instead of reporting someone for using a mic which comes STOCK with an xbox I would of simply muted the person… Thanks.
Also, i got banned for 60 MINUTES because I was “quitting” too much. Hmm, 343 please check my IP… I am in BAHRAIN DEPLOYED, we have the WORST internet connection on the planet here. I was lagged out of each and every game. I feel like warnings should be issued out rather than just instant ban. If I was warned that I lagged out of too many games I would of just waited until my internet connection was better. Other than that, 343 excellent job on the game and AGL settings! Keep working hard with Eric and the AGL board of staff! I look forward to competing at AGL once I return from my deployment! Thanks and sorry if I was bit***ng
I think 343 is better with banning than Bungie. I was on the quit probation 24/7 and one the probation is gone, quit 3 games that week and i’ll be back on it.
wooo. kinect is a big no no. even people with normal mics with their sound too loud. make sure to mute yourself when not talking, if that’s possible with a kinect mic.

Unfortunately the Kinect microphone is sometimes disruptive, depending on the level of background noise. Sorry to hear about your quit ban, too. Just so you know, the banhammer looks for a pattern, and doesn’t implement a ban based on a specific number of quits.

If anyone needs to be mic banned it is the Taiwanese that the only English they know how to say are vulgarities mixed with a few insults about the US…I play Halo to relax, not hear “Shut up. Blank you, you blanking American. Blank the US. Die blanking Americans.” In bad accented and broken English.
As for the Kinect, yea that is really annoying, and anyone with one unplug it. If you need to communicate get a mic…
I appreciate your response bs angel or 343 Administrator! I’m just very confused because if this kinect is such an issue I wonder why it is sold stock with the xbox 360 console. But I will try to just mute myself when going into games. Thanks everyone for the information I will use it next time I go online to practice.

Well the Kinect isn’t really supposed to be a microphone, it’s more for the movement based games like Zumba, Dance Central, etc. The Xbox comes with a headset for communication purposes instead.

Wasn’t there a feature with the Kinect mic where you could us it for actual gameplay? I seem to remember at Halofest that some people playing the demos for Anniversary talked about that.
lol ok well where ya’ll are at with the COMFORTS of HOME must be nice. But again I state, i am deployed doing what I can to get online and practice with my team while at the same time making sure missiles don’t come over and bomb ya’ll while you play your games comfortly… Put into consideration that lag is going to happen no matter what and that I can not be completely blamed for microsoft not putting a microphone into xbox. I am trying to get my x42’s shipped here. I apologize that I do not have the comforts I would at home such as stores and what not to be able to attain these nice things for xbox so that players I match against can be happy. I think I do enough overseas for ya’ll for you guys to at least be like “damn that dude having a crappy time maybe we should just feel bad instead of bash on him for being stuck with GARBAGE.” But it’s alright I see how the people at home feel lol. When I get back to the states and compete at AGL events i’m going to have everything I need for competition and MORE. but until then I am doing my best an apologize for the “Kinect” crap. You’re barking up the wrong tree bud. You have no idea what my experiences are. Believe me when I say I more than understand but the point is, the Kinect is not a suitable mic for MM experiences. That was my entire point, and in no way did it deserve a lecturing rant.
Don’t feel bad buddy not everyone is filthy rich. The xbox is sold stock with ONE xbox controller and ONE limited Kinect Mic at $300 over here in Bahrain. It is not your fault. I suggest you save up some money though or sell some things and buy some Turtle Beaches like the x32 or x42 those are great microphones and produce good sound quality!

No, its not fair, but the system cannot differenciate between Lagged Out and Purposefully Quit.
All it sees is “Did Not Finish”
Which is the only way it can really be set up.

Again I am so grateful you guys are taking the time to listen to the community and since I can very well see that you all look over every issue i appreciate it and i’ll quit my ranting. I just want to put my point across that not EVERYONE comes stock with a microphone suitable for matchmaking. I am in the united states army and deployed currently trying to have my sister mail me my Turtle beaches. I apologize if you took it as a lecture but i’m just trying to make a point that you should all consider the fact that there are humans out there in existence who don’t have everything suitable and equipped for MM lol. Not trying to be a jerk i’m just being 100. I want to advertise for 343 and AGL so ya’ll can GROW and make more money and make everyone in the community happy so that you guys can be happy knowing you put a competitive game out in the League for EVERYONE to enjoy. Not just people who are well off.
I can’t say it enough though how much i’m proud of what 343 is doing and how well you hear everyone out, for that, i’m going to stop complaining. If there is a way I can contact one of the personnel working there let me know because I am dying to get AGL and 343 HUGE.
