Before you "fix" the AR

For the love of the Graveminds, fix the console aim / aim assist first

No other weapons even feel usable currently

This^ really the only reason people are using the AR is cause it’s the easiest to aim with and the biggest crosshair. They can’t USE any other weapon cause they can’t aim at all.

Pistol needs a buff and the AR needs a nerf.

I absolutely agree. Pistol and BR felt way easier to use last flight, now any sort of precision is impossible with controller.

Against bots, all the guns feel perfectly fine. But against other players, the guns feel totally different. It’s almost like there’s no aim assist or at least its not working correctly. It feels like the AR doesn’t even have proper bullet magnetism against other players. Bullets you expect to hit the player, like they do with bots, just don’t register on real players.

Console aim assist needs a buff. Then we’ll see. Everything seems just right besides AR being a bit too good at range.

Thing is the TTK is already so fast for some weapons I don’t even have time to turn and see the person shooting me before I’m dead. And fixed AA won’t exactly decrease the TTK. So I would say it’s pretty safe to assume the AR needs to be nerfed, maybe not in damage but in accuracy definitely.

I don’t disagree. But PC players shred enemies in 1 second with the Sidekick though. On gamepad you can’t even shoot that fast. If it’s gonna be buffed, we need more aim assist and also a slower max rate of fire that is actually physically realistic for gamepad to even out crossplay.
I don’t think it’s the damage it needs more of, just more AA and a bit more range.

It does feel mid to long range you get 0 aim assist on pistol, BR feels fine.

I don’t want the Pistol to be too strong, but right now it is utterly outclassed by the BR.

AR I’m generally fine with but would turn the range down a little.

Aiming is fine after you tinker with the settings.

What settings you playing with?

I’m not finding it too bad at all, although I wish the Sidekick had slightly more utility at that mid range sweet spot. I’m having to play on sensitivity 3.

Someone posted a setting layout with deadzones and thresholds set to 0, acceleration at 5 and sensitivity to 8 (I think) and its made the aiming significantly better for me on XSX. I think the default settings are more harmful then helpful at this stage.

I like the ar right now it feels much more weighty then previous iterations. But still outclassed by power weapons as it should be. I actually like the pistol this time around. It shouldn’t be a power house like in halo 5, in that game I almost never pick up another weapon it’s that good which is silly. But in infinite if you use a Cov gun to burn shields then swap to the pistol for a headset finish it’s slick and feels very fulfilling

Move Center Deadzone: 3.0
Look Center Deadzone: 3.0
Move/Look Threshold: 0
Move/Look Axial Deadzone: 0
Vertical: 4.5
Horizontal: 3.5
Acceleration: 2

I’m still tinkering with the center dead zones however this feels almost exactly like my MCC settings. I changed some stuff from earlier after messing with a template recommended by a video.

Sweet cheers dude, I will give those settings a bash. Do you play on a 3 on MCC?

Around 4-6 depending on how much I have been playing. This game requires tighter shots so I have it on the safe side.

A big quality of life adjustment for me came from dealing down those massive dead zones as well. Best way is to set them all to zero and up them until there is no more stationary movement. I also have the feeling that the scaling of sens is very different from other games, I’m used to be at 4-5 but Infinite seems a lot smoother when going higher.

Currently at:
Move Center Deadzone: 5.0
Look Center Deadzone: 1.0
Move/Look Threshold: 1.0
Move/Look Axial Deadzone: 1.0
Vertical: 7.0
Horizontal: 8.0
Acceleration: 2
Long range shooting with sidekick is still a crime but everything else feels very comfortable.

I’m surprised nobody is mentioning the amount of magnetism on the BR in comparison to the rest of the weapons by the way. Even across the map you get 4 shots effortlessly without zooming. Which is in my opinion the larger issue with the sandbox currently: not the TTK itself, but the effective range at which it can be consistently hit with most weapons (which is of course most surprising to players with an AR). So I hope there will be no damage but range adjustments because else the AR will just again be the weapon you see when you spawn before you press the change weapon button

Damn dude, just logged on and played for 10 mins with these settings. Slightly lower sense but still keeping them 1 apart for the hor/vert. This is way better!

You should definitely make a topic on this ha.

Like the previous guy stated, lower the dead zone right until you get drift. I was too lazy to do that last night lol. I’m about to go to bed or I would. Finally off work.
