⭐ Before unlocking ranked arena, players should have to win 10 'Quick Play' or 'Team Slayer' matches

I made an identical thread over on the official ‘Halo Infinite Steam forum’ here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1240440/discussions/0/3195866053904368017/

‘343’ should implement a new rule: That rule being that before unlocking ranked arena, players should have to win 10 ‘Quick Play’ or ‘Team Slayer’ matches. Please take a look at this image here as to why: https://i.imgur.com/uxg6jDC.png

While the player in question did manage to get a flag cap, it didn’t make up for the obvious differential in skill level when comparing ‘said player’ to all of the other players. They only dealt 1,506 damage the entire match with a 0.23 ‘KDA’, far below everyone else’s performance.

The prior game to this one I started my ranked placement with a 3v4 ‘Slayer’ that we barely lost. That was disheartening enough. This time around, I was placed with someone who had only four games on their entire account, they were all in ranked.

‘343’ has no business putting a fresh account like this in our ranked game. I’m not saying I was the best player on my team (I wasn’t), but what I am saying is that the individual in question went ‘3-16’ in our ‘CTF’ and was a massive handicap for our team. The rest of us were all playing around high ‘Gold/Platinum’ tier. Eventually they will end up in the placement they deserve. Though in the meantime, I believe an adequate solution to this problem would be to have every player win 10 ‘Quick Play’ or ‘Team Slayer’ matches before heading into ranked. That way they’ll at least get a good grasp of ‘Halo’s’ mechanics and a bit of experience playing the game.

There’s that SBMM hard at work.

I had the same thought a few days ago…remember when you first booted up MP on Halo 3? had to go through that bootcamp as an intro before you were released into the world of matchmaking. That definitely needs to come back… It’s F2P now, so a large amount of people just jumping into QP or whatever with little to no experience. It’s unfair on the new players to experience going up against players who know how halo works. Yes there’s bot arena and training…but they’re not funneled through there. Would be much nicer for new people to experience the intro to MM like Bungie gave us in H3.

I prefer to have levels, social and ranked levels. You can do your placements once you reach a specific level in social ie 25. Just like what overwatch and siege do. 10 win in QP is not that hard and to be honest is kind stupid that way.

Or a level requirement for ranked. I think level 15 should be enough game time to know you have to play the objective to win the game.

I think some form of implementation like this could be helpful. Especially if for no other reason than to give new players time to learn how the game works/flows.

This could even be a measure to help diminish cheating in ranked - if players needed to hit a threshold of games played before entering ranked. Could cut down on the amount of smurf/cheat account creations. Other games have used this in their “anti-cheat toolbox” and it probably helps.

Dota 2 is a much more complex game but by comparison. you can’t play ranked until you have played 100 hours. I think at least 3-4 hours is fair here
