I have been at SR130 since early this year and all I got for my effort was an emblem. Halo 3 I topped out at 37 skill rank and finally maxed out my level but there was still a chance to go further, Halo Reach I am almost a General Grade two and I know there is a lot more I can go. What is there for someone that reached SR130 in Halo 4? I keep completing the weapon and game mastery levels but what good is the experience gained? I play matches and am starting to get annoyed with seeing how much experience I make but hey wait a minute I can’t do a thing with it. I used to get on daily just to finish the challenges I wanted but I want to know what is the point in enjoying the game anymore? Are we getting more SR ranks, Are we getting some sort of prestige option, What is the point for those that really like to level up?
They added CSR, that would take you a while to max out to 50 in each playlist.

No

There is no point
The only thing you can hope to do is get your csr rank up
Some people were 130 in December.
I doubt there will be ‘Prestige’ mode.
> They added CSR, that would take you a while to max out to 50 in each playlist.
That should never have been the purpose of CSR. When we asked for CSR we wanted a system that teamed up us with equally skilled players.

I can’t disagree but the OP asked what there was to aim for and I gave him an option.
I’ve been stuck at 130 since like about somewhat 2 days or something ago :o

On the subject, I could not agree more. I do not play for the ranks, I play for enjoyment. That said from late December to Late January, I was stuck at rank 70 because I did not have a special edition therefore had to wait for my specializations to be released to everyone. That months period was easily my least enjoyable time playing Halo 4. I had nothing to play for despite not claiming to care for ranks.
Months later and I am now a 128. I am dreading hitting the 130 as it honestly means nothing and gives me less to play for. The CSR came out and it was great. But with no casual social playlists, I find myself constantly being put with people that are better than me. This takes the fun out of the game and is one reason why I have almost stopped playing my favorite two playlists all together.
Getting to max rank in Halo 4 doesn’t even mean anything. You do not get some cool haunted helmet, nor does it show that you are a good player. “and all I got for my effort was an emblem” Effort? If it took you that long, it clearly did not take much effort which is my biggest problem with the ranks. They are far to easy. People should not be maxing out in less than 6 months (and I’m talking about the people that play like 20 games a day). After playing Halo Reach for a year (usually 5-7 games a day), I am now a Legend. That is about half way to max rank. If Halo 4 had more ranks it would probably in the mid 200s if not more. Getting to max rank in Halo 4 is just as impressive as hitting Major in Halo Reach.
I have not looked at the challenges in months on H4 as unlike Halo Reach, there is less of an attraction to them dreading max rank. If they added more ranks, I would be very happy. 200 would be a minimum tbh. 450 would be similar to hitting Inheritor :L Unfortunately they are not planning on adding more ranks, or have not said anything about it yet

With all due respect you only have a CSR of 17, I’m sure this is something you could be working on.
There is so much more to playing games than for multiplayer rank.
And besides, there are tons of things to do already in Halo 4;
- Commendations
- Go for all the cool unlocks
- CSR (ALL PLAYLISTS)
- Fun
- Custom Games
- Forge
- Theater
- Replay campaign (maybe try LASO?)
- Spartan Ops
All of this, is definitely enough to keep me busy until the next title.

I don’t think the OP is asking about CSR, he wants to know why there were only so many ranks in Halo 4. And how almost every other Halo game not only had more ranks, but they were more challenging to get through. This is what I got from the OP’s post.

You’re very right, galacticjedi2.
However, I think Subductiion already knew this, and just suggested working on CSR as as opposed to SR-ranks.
You are right I am only a CSR17 but I was one player that couldn’t care less if they gave us that crappy ranking system that reminds me why I raged at Halo 3 I got stuck and couldn’t go past a certain level(37) But I want more out of the game. I complete weapon masteries but what is the point if all I get are experience I don’t even need, how about at least giving us weapon skins for completion of them along with the armor. I just want a point to why SR130 what significance of that number if we stopped at SR117 then I would kind of understand or SR343 But why did the minds behind the best FPR chose to stop the levels at 130 I have posted on several places but I was hoping that a 343 member would speak up but they never do. At least when bungie had the reigns I would occasionally get them to respond to my posts.
Remember when we used to play games because they were fun?
Man, you people play way too much.
I thought I was a videogame addict, but I am still an SR88.
Sure, I play Halo 3 and Reach more often, but still…
How did people like OP play videogames before this “carrot dangling from a stick” thing became popular?
There’s other reason to play you know. Like having fun.
And yes I know “hurr Halo 4 isn’t fun durr” but anything can be fun if you play with friends.

Yeah, I remember repeatedly going through the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign and doing a lot of what the anniversary gives achievements for now.
I’ve been neglecting my weapon commendations mostly because I play for the fun of going against non-AI players.

LOL @ that post.
Prestige mode in Halo? Really? Never going to happen
> There’s other reasons to play you know. Like having fun.
Completely agree with you Jake. It seems many people have forgotten to enjoy playing the game and only seem to care about these meaningless ranks.
Feels, I hit 130 in early December hahaha. The whole ranking up process is extremely short for the hardcore Halo players.
