Been playing co-op, but no online players

I’ve been playing the campaign co-op but it never joins a game in progress, and nobody ever joins. Was the co-op meant to be an offline affair with NPCs controlling the other players? When does the co-op matchmaking take place? I’m now almost finished the co-op campaign and I haven’t yet seen another player .

I think you have to actually invite someone to your game or mission, or you could join a friends game in progress. People wont just automatically join your game if they are playing campaign, there isn’t any matchmaking for co op campaign.

There is no co op matchmaking.

Hi! Matchmaking in Co-Op Campaign is not supported in Halo 5. You have to invite your friends, or be invited yourself, in order to play online co-op campaign.

Thanks for the replies. I don’t know why I just assumed co-op would have matchmaking.
