Haven’t played much in the last year and decided to see what’s left of me. Played Arena HCS Summer 2017, won 8 out of 10 and placed Gold 5. I held my own individually. Playing it solo, I feel I did pretty well. Rusty, but well. Can anyone explain how the game ranks? Or post a link for an explanation? Much appreciated.
Ranks are mostly based off how you were ranked in previous seasons. However, they also take into consideration the ranks of both the players on your team as well as the enemy team.
Essentially, the game factors in your previous seasons’ ranks and the competition you face to determine your ranks for the current season. Since you ranked Gold 5, you likely played mostly Gold-tier competition (with maybe some Plats here and there). And that’s pretty much all there is to it when it comes to where you rank after placement matches. After that, it’s just making your way up the ranks.
