I don’t know why, for the last several weeks I’ve just been having the worst matches ever in this game. Choking like mad, fumbling with the movements and abilities, and just playing terrible overall. Even whenever I do happen to win (which is a rarity now), my deaths outweigh my kills by a pretty fair amount. Plus, it seems as though I’m getting matched up against players that are way past my skill level, and am not getting the teammates to balance that out.
I’ve always been a lone wolf in Halo, and every FPS for that matter, and have done fine up until now; even in team oriented games like BF3-BF4. I used to be able to hold my own, and even be at the top of the leaderboard in H5, but it just seems like now that’s been flipped entirely on its head and I’m starting to lose the enthusiasm to play. Especially with me not having a lot of time to play anymore, it just seems as if whatever skill that I might have had, has gone bloody caput. It’s even to the point where I’m in dead last, and honestly feel like I’d be helping my teammates by NOT participating.
Has anyone else been through this, and/or is currently going through something similar? It’s saddening that I now come away from a session in frustration, and not a sense of joy nor fulfillment that I just had a good time, and played well.
Ill play BTB alone and get Capture The Flag… Problem is i seem to be the team to end up with 1-3 teammates who think they have to hide in the flag rokm to defend it… Which leaves it to be a 5 vs 8 game… Other team mows thru the 5 of us and easily grabs flag from the kids who sit in the base to “defend”.
People gotta realize that nobody has to hide on the flag to defend it. You just have to outslay them and push up… And keep them back.
I’m not the greatest and their have been moments when I question what am I doing. It took me the longest time to figure which way was wich in WarZone after spawning I grin and bare it and am still having fun
has it started happening right after the seasonal rank reset? its possible that you are playing against people that used to be onyx that are now golds silvers etc that are working there way back up the ladder and you are just being the victim of extreme probability.

A little while after that, yeah. You might be on to something there mate, and as the fellow above stated, it might just be time to find a team whenever I have time to play.
I’ve been like this too. You win some, you lose some. Lately I lose some lol.
What’s worse is lately I haven’t been able to use REQs or open packs because of the constant “retrieving data” message.
So I’ve been having to adjust using a pistol to take down Spartans & Warden Eternal.
Hopefully this increases my proficiency for the pistol at least lol.
The February matchmaking update seemed to have changed a lot of things. Personally I don’t think for the better.
Ever since these “matchmaking improvement” I started seeing more laggy players in matches and just seemed to make my matches even more competitive not more enjoyable…
I’m having a shocker the past few days mate, I don’t know what’s going on. I’m a decent Halo player and was playing fine a few days ago. The past few days I’m going 3-13, 4-15 and various other horrendous scores consistently. I’m in Onyx but I’ve been in Onyx every other season and not had any problems. I haven’t been doing too badly wins wise but I am contributing nothing, I’m probably counter productive.
I play solo a lot but a few days a week I tend to have one or maybe two mates playing with me. Feel free to add me if you want mate.

Yeah I seem to remember you being the guy who messaged me to blame me for you losing your winning streak and then you went 7-14 or something in the very next game
