So I been looking into all waypoint forums because I prior to halo 5 legitimately enjoyed the halo universe and all it’s side stories and plots. I came across a forum from late 2014 and early 2015 talking about all the possibilities of what would happen in halo 5’s plot as well as looking at the stories of the previous games and where the could be leading up to. I got such an overwhelming sense of sadness when i looked back at halo 5’s campaign and it didn’t touch or move any of those plots. I know there’s been plenty of “Halo 5 campaign sucks” and “worst campaign ever”. I’m not trying to poop on the campaign anymore than everyone else already has. I’m just sad that I didn’t like the campaign and have that wow factor like i did in previous halos and not have the want to dive deeper into the campaign to consider all the hidden meanings and where the plot could potentially go. To end my little realization, I will leave the one plot point from halo 3 that i desperately wished was going to be revisited or atleast explained better. Cortana’s plan to end the flood that she mentions sparking MC to go and find her. To this day I have been so curious as to what that actually was. Was it the ark? Maybe MC was put on the path to find Requiem on purpose for him to journey to this “eventuality” of finding the true end to the flood. Feelings man feelings.
I think they might have several different approaches to the story to progress.
Perhaps Cortana’s ascension process as a result of curing her rampancy led to something larger than just eliminating the flood. Perhaps to something along the lines of Universal peace utilizing forrunner tech and the guardians themselves to dictate peace throughout the Halo Universe… Or is that not the H5 story arch?
Besides “the flood” are SO 2007!
