If you follow that guide thoroughly and are still not getting then your challenge could likely be bugged despite many who say it is not. Just want to say thank you for making these tutorial videos. I have watched them both several times. The first one is great for explaining the challenge and shows good techniques. The second one is also great for players like me with a bugged challenge. I used your fix in the 2nd video to get the challenge working with the techniques from the first video, and got the challenge complete finally today! All around great guides here!

Yes, your videos and the reddit post certainly saved my -Yoink-. It was so frustrating hitting the assassination over and over again to no success. 343 should absolutely acknowledge this bug and issue an official fix in the near future.

Yep. I’ve deleted files, restarted MCC without wifi, done it again, and then put back my files, and do it again, I tried different ways of assassinating, spots to assasinate from and all that.

You’re not supposed to put your files back. That’s the whole issue. Until you get the challenge keep your files backed up and not back where they were. What version of MCC do you have on PC? Steam or MS Store?

As far as I can tell from looking at my own achievements it does not. Just checkpoints, gametypes, saved films, and maps. You’ll need to upload those to your file share or if you go to manage game and add ons in the video you potentially copy your data to a external hard drive and then unplug it. Do the challenge and then copy it back when done.

No, all your achievements, ranks, season unlocks, nameplates, and emblems are totally safe, even if you don’t keep your original save files. The only vulnerable content is any saved game modes, map variants, mission saves/checkpoints, as well as settings and armor customization. So if you are in the middle of a LASO run and don’t want to risk losing your progress, complete that first before attempting this fix to be on the safe side. Also back up any game modes/maps that you have saved to your file share.

You can plug in an external hard drive to your Xbox and go to manage the local data of MCC and copy all the contents to the hard drive. Then delete everything. Then copy it back.

Exactly the same for me. I’ve done the achieve 3 times in a row no difficulty and it decides I didn’t do it well enough. Is making a patch out of the question? I shouldn’t have to call tech support and go through my files to get a damn helmet. The last time I had to mess with files for the game to work I had to call tech support for MONTHS to get my game to work again properly, so no thanks. Just sucks I may or may not get challenges done depending on whether it wants to work or not.
Edit: I have tried everything within the video as well as what the support site states that you need to do in order to play it unbugged and it still does not work. This is my fourth time successfully doing the achievement.

Sounds like you will need to work on your technique. Are you backing off sprint and crouching in midair before assassinating the elite? If you stay in sprint after getting close to the ground the challenge will not trigger, so be sure to start freefalling as soon as possible after jumping from the cliff.
