Wouldn’t that post belong in ‘Halo Xbox One’ Forums?
Otherwise I mostly agree with what you said except the AAs and a few other things, which rest on anyone’s opinions…
Good grief that was a long post!
Good points, and I agree, however.
I wouldn’t see AAs and sprint going away, 343i will probably make it better and improve it. I like the new features(apart from ordnance), I find them fun to use and I don’t care if they aren’t part of halo. Being able to do something else other than just shoot, hit, throw makes it stand out from other shooters. I’ve played halo since CE and it’s nice to see it change along the way.
343i are going with what they feel is best for the series because of how split the community is about modern vs classic and probs to them, you cant please everyone
I almost feel like I wrote this.
> Now, what the find there is that it’s very similar to Call of Duty in mechanics and function. But that player didn’t go out and get this Halo game to play a knockoff Call of Duty with shields, they wanted Halo. That’s why they bought it, but that’s not what we’ve gotten in the past few releases. So what did this average gamer do? They immediately stop playing Halo 4 and return it to buy Black Op 2. That’s why right now Halo 4 is $5 and Black Ops 2 is $40. Numbers don’t lie.
See, that’s what I’m sayin’!
> Also the ability to hear enemy players before and during a game is something I think we all miss from classic Halo. I do not know why this feature was removed from Halo?
It wasn’t. It’s in the audio options; you just have to change it.
> Another little thing that has bothered many hardcore FPS players is aim acceleration.
Goodness, I hate aim acceleration! The variability in look sensitivity makes it almost impossible for me to aim precisely.
A brilliant post, if I do say so myself, and as a casual/social/non-competitive player, I agree with almost all of what you said.
The only part that I slightly disagree with is Armour Abilities. While I would prefer to see them disappear altogether, I would also enjoy seeing them be put on the map as advantages to be fought over, alongside power weapons and powerups. There would only have to be a couple of them per map, and they would have a certain number of uses before running out, but it would still be a nice way to keep them in to please those who do enjoy them.
Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable read and a well thought-out post!
Summary anyone?
> Summary anyone?
Basically…everything that has been posted on this forum since Halo 4 was released: AA BAD! SMALL MAPS GOOD! 343 NO LISTEN! LOADOUTS = CoD!
It literally IS beating the dead horse, so at least they got the title right. I agree with a lot of those points but every week and every month the same thing gets posted, it’s starting to become white noise.
I’ll leave Halo politics to others but you are wrong on Halo Reach. The ONLY Call of Duty element to Halo Reach was sprint and I know many people that wanted that in Halo since Halo 2.
Amazing post. I agree with nearly (if not literally) everything.
If 343 applies these ideas with the power provided by the Xbox One… we’ll have the best ‘at the core’ Halo we have ever seen running with the smoothest frame rates on dedicated servers with beautiful graphics.
However…
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; it VERY likely wont happen. This going off the experience of how the world of entertainment works. Not often do any forms of entertainment use the ‘less is more’ approach as a series progresses.
Here’s to hoping!

It looks to me like this was posted in a forum dedicated to tournament players. The vast majority of the post was about how Halo 4 failed to meet the expectations of those members of the community that prefer tournament-style gaming.
This attitude persists because MLG and 343i had a falling out, AGL’s hopes never materialized, and -Yoink!- Gaming has disappeared. There are no tournaments to win, and without VSR there’s no point in playing online. Therefore, Halo is dead.
I’ll just say this. We’ve been lead to believe by 343i that Pro players were consulted pre-release and post-release. Their influence is apparent, yet they are the most vocal critics of the game. What’s going on here?
I hope that 343i does not listen…
They need to make the game that they want to make…
All I read was the topic title and now I know that Dead Horses are confirmed for Halo Xbox One. HELL YEAH!!!
> All I read was the topic title and now I know that Dead Horses are confirmed for Halo Xbox One. HELL YEAH!!!
More like bloody smears of viscera and offal in the general shape of horses confirmed. What is this, GoW?
I agree with everything he said. I really hope 343 actually understands and gives us that. Or in the H2 anniversary they just put in the multiplayer exactly how it was(after the title update of course) with no Codifications and modernized BLAM so us veterans can play that. But then alot of people wouldn’t by H5 lol
The horse is dead?! NO TRIGGER NO!!!
