So I just finished the campaign on legendary and received NOTHING!!!
I enjoy challenging games but the hard work usually rewards you with something for the grind.
Super super disappointed 343. Give us chiefs armour in online or something!!

I completed the first mission (except for maybe 25 kills) using the Plasma Pistol. I literally trolled the first mission on Legendary.

I just finished the game on Legendary myself. And the first couple of missions, yeah, you can get away with that.
Once you hit the open world, though? Difficulty spikes. And don’t even get me started on the boss battles. A word of advice? Keep a Calcite Disruptor on your person at all times when tackling the main story missions. Don’t use it unless you run into something you can’t kill through conventional means. The thing’s amazingly powerful and walked me through most of the boss fights that would’ve been hell otherwise, and it shuts down the Elites/Brutes with Chieftain/Zealot level shields in a single mag or less.

I agree, ridiculous.
Just beat it myself on legendary and when i realized that i get nothing but an extra cutscene with our good ol boy atriox i knew i shoulda played on normal and waited for the cutscene on youtube

that’s really upsetting. Although the campaign is fun and the story is good, not having a reward other than a simple achievement for finishing the game on legendary is very demotivating for players. Honestly I was expecting to get at least an emblem, which I still think it’s not enough but at least it’s something, an armor would be ideal (but of course they would never do that since they want us to spent money on their shop with abusive prices). Hopefully 343 will fix that in the future.

I’m trying to figure out how 343 expects to keep players around wanting to play the game with how they put way too many limits in the game, controlling the playlist, gating progress, RNG challenges, etc… especially with the lack of content that anyone can buy or play other games that have triple the amount of content and rewards for free.
See, people will argue that games are meant to be played for fun, and I will agree with that, but most players in this world do not buy games let alone play them “just fun” like Halo, (Breath of the wild) is a game you play just for fun. They buy games for the challenges, the loot, and in spite of what anyone thinks and it doesn’t matter if they are just cosmetics, it’s a known fact or companies wouldn’t be pushing to build games around a shop.
So, in games like this that are not offering diddly-squat, that will not sit well with most players even the players that just check out the f2p MP. Doesn’t 343 know when a game doesn’t have that incentive especially how they released the f2p MP with no loot to acquire, that the players will easily get bored and go play other games?

Well now I’m demotivated like a mother F’r. I have been grinding legendary because I assumed we would get something cool for said grind. I’m on PC and don’t give a single solitary crap about some stupid achievement.

You get achievement + Legendary ending… So pretty much standard for Halo.

You don’t have to beat the game on Legendary to get that cutscene where Atriox appears at the end of the game. I got to beat the game on Heroic recently and still got to see that cutscene where Atriox appears, so it’s not really a “Legendary” ending.

It also shuts down Hunters if you are caught fighting them with no Fusion Coils.
But for literally anything, a Fusion Coil to the face does the trick.

Hopefully they’ll release some kind of retrospective armour reward for those that complete the campaign on Legendary…I wouldn’t hold my breath though as it’s clearly not within the profit making strategy and business model to give highly desirable exclusive items away for free or to be earned.

Your are correct good sir. Earning items just doesnt jive with 343’s concept of rewards. Earning rewards in games these days now means using CC. Even COD gives rewards for doing insane things that are difficult to achieve.

if that’s the case, I don’t see the point doing any difficulty if you don’t get rewarded with nothing apart from bragging rights, personally I love legendary played every Halo solo legendary to date and it’s a great difficultie despite dying all the time, helps you engage how to do different scenarios

No, you don’t need it but it’s something that’s to be expected. Every game, including CE with the elite/Johnson scene, had something a little extra for beating it on legendary.
