But amazing yet awful news, the beam rifle is confirmed! That means Legendary playthroughs of Halo 4 will be 10x harder. Toy description; The Elites are back in Halo 4, including the popular Ranger variant as depicted in Halo: Reach. I think H4 Campaign will be the cause of many broken controllers
I actually loved the Focus Rifle, it was just nothing like a sniper rifle was meant to be. I think it would have been cool to have it return alongside the Beam Rifle (I guess it still could, but it seems unlikely). That said, I’m glad the Covie sniper is back.

The jackal looks -Yoinking!- ridiculous! I mean how could it be changed THAT much! Really 343?!
It might be old news, but this is the first I’ve heard of the Beam Rifle making a horrifying return. I admire that weapon, but it is terrifying thinking about going through missions with jackals in the trees sniping you out. It’s easier in co-op because your teammate gets sniped (1-shot killed) and then you identify the area from which the shot came from, then you take out the enemy. It’s going to make it hard for me to complete the legendary campaign solo, but if I’ve done it with every other Halo, this will be no exception.
H2 Legendary Jackals are the single-worst thing that has happened to a Halo Campaign. The Focus Rifle was perfect for making the Campaign less agonising just in the same sense that a Wraith is a perfect Campaign enemy as opposed to a Scorpion.
I really would have thought that 343i realised that the beam rifle in the hands of a Campaign enemy is a bad thing. Oh well nevermind.
also, on GAF, I lurked then posted I thought some stuff was new when really it was a year in internet GAF time (30 min irl time) and i got gangbanged by 13 users and i stood up for myself and got banned haha ):
Cool that laser version of the sniper is back, now i can go back to slowly sniping people without being forced out of the scope, because that whole overheat vs reload thing makes it sooooooo different from the sniper-rifle.
