Since the Beam/Sniper rifles are so similar maybe 343 could add a secondary fire to differentiate the two rifles. Primary fire is how it is now in Halo 3 two hit-body and headshot=instant kill. But to activate its secondary fire, you would hold down the trigger and it would charge in about a second (similar to the plasma pistol but it charges a little slower and ISN’T capable of an EMP or destroying vehicles) and instantly fire (making it a little harder?) resulting in a one hit kill shot.

I loved the Beam Rifle and I would like to see it come back exactly as it was. You fire too fast and it overheats, you pace and you never have to reload. It was awesome for that. You could do the two quick shots to get the kill, but then you would have to wait before firing again.

Ok I can respect that
I was just a sudden idea I had to make the beam rifle more unique from sniper rifle similar to the plasma pistol and human pistol, they function similarly but are unique in their own ways. But I can see where there might be some problems with it being abused like armor lock.

Its like a cross between the Sentinel Beam and the Sniper(Beam) Rifle, except it fires a very powerful beam when compared to the Sentinel Beam.

Overdrive is the Locusts ability to divert Energy from its sheild to its main cannon. Its very powerful, it can take down a UNSC base(Fortress) in about, 5 seconds maybe.

you could utilize the Dpad and press down and it would go into overdrive mode. It could maybe draw power from your shield system. You would do a lot more damage, but you would sacrifice defense in turn.
