Alright the forums are in a massive war between the people who hate the changes that 343 is making to Halo 4 and the people that agree with the changes.
Let me ask this. How can you automatically put a label on something that’s not even released yet? I mean they show ONE video about the game and you guys just jump to conclusion that the game is a certain way. I mean the word, “perk” is thrown out there and you guys just slap the COD label right on it. Why can’t Halo 4 have its own meaning to, “perk” and not what you guys are talking about?
Then all you guys talking about they are changing too much, what’s so bad about it? If they keep making clones of the previous games the experience WON’T get better, it will be the same old game you played already. If they don’t add new stuff the series won’t get better and it will be lame and get old fast.
Also you guys are saying that 343 does not listen to the forums when they gave you a Title Update for Reach to put a sock in all you, “bloom haters” and etc. You guys have been screaming for a Halo 4 revealing and now your just SO angry that it’s not EXACTLY how you want it. Halo is not YOUR game, it WILL NOT appeal to everyone. You wanted another Halo so stop spazzing about it and accept it. Do you think that your whining is going to stop 343, have them delay the game to remove a simple feature JUST to shut you up…NO they aren’t!
I suppose there’s no need to jump to conclusion yet, but from the very small amount that we’ve all seen I can’t say I’m super excited for the changes. As I said, though, time will tell.
It’s a matter of us not wanting them to scrap what made Halo different from other shooters… We don’t want things that will unbalance the gameplay. Halo has always started with everyone on the same field. People would start with one weapon and try to make it to the power weapons first, and like every shooter should have, is an equal chance for the two teams to fight with no advantages for the power weapon.
“Perks” and custom load outs will ruin that aspect of Halo making everyone on the same playing field at the beginning of the game. Eventually, the best “perk” or load out will be known as the best, and people will have an advantage over others who aren’t using it. There’s really no way to make sure that all “perks” or load outs are equal, and if they some how do, they would have to make the “perks” so utterly useless that it shouldn’t even be in the game.
Once again, Halo should make everyone start on the same field, with the same chance at winning the game. The only thing that makes one team win, is because of their skill with the weapons they find on the map and the weapon they start with.
That is all. Please 343, don’t take out what Halo did best.

Exactly this. Jetpack, for example, completely ruined the arena in Reach. It got to the point that you were automatically at a disadvantage if you didn’t use it on certain maps (Sanctuary and Reflection come to mind first). Halo isn’t Halo with things like this.

This exactly. Halo was about throwing players, who are exactly the same in every respect, into an arena filled with things at their disposal, and letting them fight it out.
