Be mad at Microsoft, not 343

Until someone shows me internal documents saying that 343 was fiercely against what was ultimately released or the set up for the BP, they are still to blame.

And stop posting this bs “stop yelling at 343.”

As far as I am concerned Reach WAS the last halo. 4 was just a bastardization of Halo and what they thought would make money. It was just a sci-fi shooter. Not halo. And I have no idea what 5 was, but it was not good. At all. 343 has been bastardizing this series since the Bungie handoff. People are just putting the criticism where it belongs. Now is their chance to make it right, and so far they are blowing it, to be completely honest, but there is still so much potential. This game could be the Halo that real fans have wanted since reach, but instead we get greedy games as a service garbage. The core gameplay is solid and almost flawless in my opinion, but everything that comes with it is a disappointment.

You say don’t blame them yet they are MOST DEFINITELY behind A LOT that’s wrong with the game. In fact, in yesterday’s community playdate stream, one dev by the name of Jerry took accountability that he messed up on his part and his actions (or non actions) are why the store was littered with other pieces of Samurai armor during the Tenrai event, and as a matter of fact the next time the event comes around, that armor will now be earned from playing.

Of course Jerry deserves his credit for taking accountability and even making the situation better, however he’s a 343 employee, not a MS employee.

You’d be surprised when it’s revealed who are actually behind many mistakes with games. It was said that Activision was the reason behind many of Destiny’s mistakes, then Bungie and Activision parted ways and the game was and is still flawed in many ways.

This isn’t to shame 343, that’s not my intention at all. I’m simply just saying blame is equally shared.

Reach multiplayer wasn’t that good tbh. Armor lock lol.

Neat, feel free to uninstall it on your Xbox/PC

This is 343 all the way. It was their terrible planning and management that kept this game in development for 6+ years. Microsoft finally said enough is enough and made the put something out.

This game was in development for twice as long as any other Halo before it, and it still released half baked…keep that in mind

I think Microsofts biggest fault in all of this was not shaking up the head management at 343. There are issues there for sure.

This. I don’t get the “we must be thankful to 343 for continuing the franchise” stuff.

They were created by microsoft to keep milking the IP for money. It can be phrased a number of ways, but thats the truth. It wasn’t formed out of the goodness of their hearts or wanting to see the story concluded. It was produced because it sold consoles and made them money.

Halo 3 was a perfectly fine end to the story, and reach a decent wrap up of the overall plot. It didn’t need a sequal. What happened to chief after he got in the pod is left up to the viewer’s imagination…which is sure a hell of a lot better than the successive series of abandoned plots 343’s halos have been spewing out.
