I don’t see cosmetics as value for money, as they add more content to the store the cosmetics you’ve already bought become irrelevant to you so you buy more. This pattern is rinse and repeat every time they release new content or sell you another battle pass.
I’ll happily buy DLC for campaign but I refuse to buy cosmetics that are going to be replaced every 3 months.
Absolutely nothing. I think it’s ridiculous to pay for cosmetic items. I hate microtransactions in general. I did buy the campaign though, Well in a way, I bought the anniversary edition system and got the game with it, but that’s it.
I think this new generation of gaming is appalling. This whole, release the game in whatever state, with whatever content and we’ll just fix, and add things as we go is terrible! Just look at Halo infinite for example. Look how many features were cut from even the campaign??? Weather effects and co-op for starters. Weather effects are you kidding me?!?! That’s a huge part of a game that adds a lot. Changes the mood A
and the feelings the player has in a certain situation. I won’t even get into multiplayer as there’s just so many issues it’s ridiculous.
I’m sorry to say that in my opinion the worst thing to happen to Halo is going to a free to play model. I would gladly pay $100 for a game, Heck even more and wait longer for it’s release if it means I get a complete game full of content off the bat!! And don’t tell me people can’t afford that because if you can afford a $200-500 or more, gaming machine you can afford it. It just means you save up, don’t buy a lot of other crap and you can’t own as many other games or whatever. I do think the game has a lot of potential and I think it will be pretty damn good in the end when it’s all said and done but that will probably be 2-3 years from now (or longer…) I’m sorry to say
I bought just the one Mud Hog pack they had a couple weeks after launch. I only purchased it because I wanted to show support to 343 for offering Halo for free.
I like free to play models a lot. Cosmetics don’t bother me. In a lot of free to play games I buy nothing. I’m paying mostly just because it’s Halo. I’ll happily throw in some money every couple of months.
Most my time playing video games is spent on Halo, although I do have Elden Ring coming today for PS5 so Halo is going to have to take a significant back seat. I get about 10 hours to play a week on a good week, so there go the next three months. I’ll try and play a few games of Infinite ranked and BTB to stay sharp. Want to get Onyx.
I bought 20 dollars worth of credits day one along with the battlepass. So 30 in total. But i havent spent any actual money since. Used some free microsoft rewards points but thats about it. If i could go back in time to day one of release, id honestly keep my money and my rewards points. Even though it was just 30 bucks, i still regret it.
I only bought the Battle Pass so $10. I kind of regret getting it too since I regret offering any support to this terrible “live service” model so far.
2000 cr on a bundle to get my colours, 500 on an actually decently priced weapon skin bundle, and the BP. And tbh that would be totally reasonable if I’d ended up playing it a lot more, but as it stands I capped out at about 70 hours and have no desire to go back until huge changes are made, which is real low for a halo game.
Good thing I got my gamepass mega cheap or it’d feel like a huge waist. Right now it’s sorta middling value when you look at the game as a whole I think.
zippo. I know money schemes when I see it. They should have at least unlocked weapon skins that you unlock in the Campaign as well as Master Chief armor. So, I have one helmet lmao.
If the game seems more finished, not like a Beta, I may do BP in the future seasons.
