For those of you who don’t know him, BDobbinsFTW is a youtuber who continually criticizes shifty industry practices as well as the degrading quality of games (mainly FPS). He is a pretty smart guy and I usually find myself agreeing with what he says (although sometimes it hurts my fanboyism). He reviewed Halo 5 like 2 days ago, and I think it was pretty spot on. My favorite part of the video is when he says some anti-sprint stuff that actually made sense to me and made me realize how it did hurt the game.
The first part where he talks about the reqs is a little shaky to me, but the rest of the video is gold. Here’s the link.

I just wonder how many videos he will make(milk) in trying to sway the opinions of other players to how he feels we should all feel about Halo 5.
He seems like a nice guy and all, but his videos are unnecessarily long and after a while he just comes off as rambling the same point over and over again. Like his Destiny videos.

It’s a mixed review like all of those for H5 but generally positive about it’s gameplay.
Bdobbins wanted 343 to ‘Fix MCC first’* and I sure wish 343 had made a better effort to do just that. There are still many bugs in MCC. The last update was small potatoes compared to what needed to be done and there has been tumbleweeds from 343 about MCC recently.
*and this is constructive criticism. - It is the solution to the problems he was complaining about!
I guess I agree with the OP on the review… although sprint is still a must in campaign. I’m just glad that the review isn’t all hate, and he ends up saying Halo 5 is a solid entry in the series at the conclusion of the video.
I really don’t understand why people don’t like him. He does have his flaws, like having sometimes overly long videos, and often repeating himself over and over on certain topics, but I’ve never heard him say something that isn’t true.

Not everyone likes certain personalities. I can’t stand PewDiePie but million(s) love him. It’s all about tastes.

Intelligence is considered an opinion now? I’m sure he’ll survive without your one view LOL. It’s actually a positive review, if you even care.

LethalQ is a pretty established 343 fanboy. He violently defends all and any of their decisions.
This review of BDobbins has been the most calm and the one without tearing the developer a new one. I would agree with the majority of his points.
Him and Angry Joe are the only people I trust these days with game reviews. Bdobbins is pretty level headed from time to time, but sometimes he flies off the rails. I understood he had good intentions with the #saveMCC thing, but he could’ve executed it better imo.
Fanboys of all colors hate BDobbins videos because he’ll say the things they don’t want to hear. He makes EXTREMELY valid points on a lot of distasteful industry practices like day 1 DLC, pre-alpha preorder money grabs, overpriced content and many other things that are particularly bad in the console gaming industry.
You can disagree with him if you like. But nowhere does he say that worshiping games is his job. The whole point of his channel is to give brutally honest reviews whether you like what he says or not. Consider him the non-parody version of Honest Trailers. Most of his review is correct though there are points I disagree with him on. But I’ll have the maturity to not blanket hate him because he hurt my feelings. He’s the opposite end of the spectrum from the garbage reviews from mainstream gaming media sellouts like IGN.
But alas, I highly doubt we’ll get a whole lot of educated opinions from kids on Waypoint regardless of what I say. Especially given half of them won’t watch the review and realize it’s not just a blanket hate review and he has good things to say as well.

Haha I like how people try to use “fanboy” as some sort of derogatory term. And you clearly don’t know me if you think I “violently” defend 343. No I actually use my brain and form my own opinions and point of views. I don’t need angry little YouTubers to form my opinion. 343 is very much like bungie in that they have done good and bad things with Halo. Sorry if I won’t listen or go along with all haters like a sheep.

Much like the Angry Joe review, I agree with a lot of Dobbins points here, he was objective and just spoke truthfully without (at least in my opinion) going over the top and creating hyperboles to justify what ever point he was making
There is nothing worse than negative (or positive for that matter) exaggeration in an attempt to justify or legitimise a stand point
